SWACHH BHARAT SUMMER INTERNSHIP 2.

We students of CMS COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND COMMERCE showed

our interest on swachhbharat summer internship and enrolled our team
consisting of 9 members. We have already enrolled our names with college NSS
team. We have did many activities and awareness via NSS for past years. With
support of college NSS team we enrolled our names on swachhbharat mission
and started preparing for it. Our team was lead by Kathiravan.V, we have
selected PARAVAKKOTTAI village of THIRUVARUR district, TAMILNADU. We
ourselves decided to give our hands and full efforts to this camp. We thank you
for giving this opportunity to us.

We have started our journey on 12th of July from coimbatore after

reaching the village at first we went to VAO office for getting permission for the
camp. Then we intimated to the village police station about the camp and took
our hands for the next step. On the next day (13th July 2019) we got the
permission VAO and discussed about the camp with Panchayat members and
with some village peoples around there.

CLEANING PUBLIC PLACES:

We started doing our first step of this camp on PARAVAKOTTAI POLICE STATION by
cleaning the stations surroundings and collected the waste in and around station on 15th July
2019. We initiated our activity from cleaning process. When we started our cleaning process
we could see more no of unwanted plants we removed everything in that place and made it
look so clean.
The very next day we went and cleaned the PARAVAKOTTAI VILLAGE OFFICE, the office was
fully surrounded with unwanted plants and waste bottles and was looking so dirty. We also
cleaned the nursery school on the village.
 DOOR TO DOOR CAMPAIGN:
However we gave awareness among people by giving speech we were not
satisfied because some of the peoples were refusing us so we decided give DOOR TO TOOR
advices by giving them notices. We also faced so many problems while doing it , some peoples
throwed the notices away and was not responding us while some peoples sat with us and
discussed their ideas and helped us. It was really a new view for us and we have leared how
to interact with people while doing this. We had 1000 copies of these notices and we gave
the most on that day and the remaining were given while doing rally.

We almost cleaned the village with our maximum effort. But to maintain
this cleanliness, we gathered scavengers and sweepers and taught about new ideologies to
maintain the village.
 RALLY:
To take this mission to the next level we planned to take school students for a rally. As we
planned everything was coming up well and good. The students of PARAVAKOTTAI
GOVERNMENT HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL, PARAVAKOTTAI joined their hands with and
showed interest in doing this rally well and good. They also done the task with full efforts.
We feel thankful for the staffs and students for their helping hands. We also thank the
principal for giving permission and for their fondly helps. We made pamphlets for the rally
by ourselves and we had realised more new things by doing this.
 AWARENESS MEETING:
We conducted a meeting among the students who were participated in that rally
and gave a speech about “Reduction of Plastic” and “Saving Water”. We also provided juice
and biscuits to the peoples who were participated in the meeting. We gave some valuable
speech to them and they were also interested and shared their point of views we suggested
them to reduce the usage of plastic in their house and the surroundings. we intimated them
to plant trees if they can. The village peoples also shared some useful points to them and
felt thankful.
 We our self took interest and conducted quiz and drawing competition and gave the
prizes for the winner and the participants who took part there. We gave trophies for the first
three students who participated in drawing competition and five teams with 20 members
have participated in quiz competition (5 teams 4 members each) and won gold, silver and
bronze and other participants were pens for showing their interest in the competition.
 WASTE COLLECTION:
On morning with the help of corporation we started to collect waste from house
holds with the help of waste collection vehicle. We divided into two groups and went house
by house and all the wastes from the household and dumped it in corporation waste
collection point situated near the corporation.some people encouraged us while some
discouraged us. Some peoples were refusing us but we did our best and collected the wastes
as much as we can. After collecting all the wastes we disposed everything on the waste pit in
the village.
 WALL PAINTING
Wall painting was the one in which we have struggled a lot because first we thought
its easy to draw but the main problem we faced was the climate that is due to bad weather
condition we couldn’t complete the painting on time it took us two and half days to
complete and make dry.we have also got more appreciation for the villagers and the
peoples who have seen us painting.we were also appreciatied by the VAO for the thing we
drew there.
 PLANTATION OF TREES :
We all know how trees help humans.Humans need air to breathe we get
these air from the trees and also trees give us shadows so we decided to plant 30 different
trees in public places like Busstop , Ground , Roadsides etc… we bought 30 plantation from
nursery in which 10 was big trees while others were small. From big trees we digged around
2.5 ft hole and for others we digged 1ft. We asked some villagers to pour water daily and
asked them to plant them .
