OBJECTIVES: Installation of ground earth system to protect building due to lightening.

1 Mark the location minimum 1.5 away from the Tec. Officer SEE
building.
2 Request for Inspection Tec. Officer SEE

3 Excavation for pits will be done manually at site Foreman Tec. Officer
using mamoty, crow bars, shovels etc.
1m x 1m x d (d to be decided at the site accord
to the soil condition and the earth resistance
but not less than 1.5.0m)
4 The copper rod buried and copper tapes / bare Tec. Officer SEE
copper conductors to will connecting using
necessary clamping system.
5 Cu tape and Cu rod will be connected inside the Tec. Officer SEE
320mm x 320mm x 190mm Concrete

6 Request for Inspection Tec. Officer SEE
 7 Using the digital earth tester, measure the Tec. Officer SEE
resistance of the electrodes in accordance with
the test equipment manufacturers’ instructions
and BS7430.
Testing will be carried out in accordance with
the requirements of clause 16 of BS7430.
Test electrodes will be installed in accordance
with BS7430.
8 Record the results on test sheet and reconnect Tec. Officer SEE
the earth conductor to the electrode.
9 Ensure the HSE during the entire process SEE PM
