Radio Frequency Waves,

Are They Good or Bad?

Radio frequency waves are a type of electromagnetic waves which means they don’t need a
medium (everything that occupies space and has weight) to travel from place to place. They
are mostly used for communication for example, the information in the tv is sent using radio
waves [CITATION Jim19 \l 1033 ].

The benefit of the radio waves is that simplifies communication [CITATION Jim19 \l
1033 ]. Because of radio frequency waves we have mobile phones and many other devices
that use radio frequency waves that have been helping us in many ways since their
invention.

One of the benefits of mobile phones is that helps us to send sound waves from one place
to a very faraway place in the world [CITATION add20 \l 1046 ]. A phone converts the
sound into radio waves. These waves travel from the sender location to the receiver and

converts into sound again[CITATION IOP20 \l 1033 ]. This process happens during phone
calls.

One other benefit of mobile phones is that they help us organize ourselves. Before mobile
phones were invented people used to have notebooks. Every time the book got full, people
had to buy another one and buy another pen every time the ink finishes. With mobile phone
you can organize yourself better because other than just keeping the information mobile
phones can remind you about that information you kept there. Using mobile phone, you
don’t need to keep buying new pens and new book, you just need to buy a phone
[CITATION add20 \l 1046 ].

Mobile phones can also help us our location. Mobile phones can do pretty much what maps
do, but even better. They can show precisely where are you and they can also tell you what
about the places near you. These maps in the mobile phone are better than having a
physical map because it gets updated every day. If there are new coffee places for example,
they will appear in the map installed in your mobile phone and the physical map will
continue the way it is [CITATION add20 \l 1046 ].

With all of these benefits, radio frequency waves have one big problem. Radio frequency
waves can harm the community’s health which uses devices that use radio frequency waves
in an improper way. 50% of young people are addicted to mobile phones[ CITATION
San19 \l 1046 ]. Mobile phones emit and receive radio frequency waves when they send and
receive signs such as calls, messages, etc. Not using devices that use radio frequency waves
in a not proper way is when you are all the time using them [CITATION Ama17 \l 1046 ].

If you overuse devices that use radio frequency waves you may get brain cancer, headaches,
lower sperm count, tumors and bad sleep [CITATION Ama17 \l 1046 ]. This happens
because of the radio frequency waves that mobile phones emit and receive[CITATION
Ant19 \l 1046 ]. Studies show that with their energy, high-energy forms are capable of
removing electrons from atoms. This can cause DNA damage which can cause cancer.

Studies also show that radio frequency waves don’t have enough energy to make such
change in DNA [CITATION Ale19 \l 1033 ].

In my opinion, radio frequency waves are good. I think they are good because they help us
with communication a lot. Imagine you are in a boarding school, for you to communicate to
your family who can’t be with you in the boarding school without phones they would need
to waist money and send mails. Because we have radio frequency waves, we don’t need to
do that. We just take our phones your dorm parent’s phone to call your parents. But, even
with all its benefits, radio frequency waves still have its down points. One of them being that
they can expose you to radio frequency waves. This can result you to have headaches and
tumors. This only happen when you make bad use of the radio waves. For example, when
you overuse devices that use radio frequency waves you are being exposed to radio
frequency waves.
