SAVING THE PHILIPPINE SEAS

REACTION PAPER

The world has so much to offer that are very beneficial to us. But it is sad to think

and see that we take advantage of it and we treat it as if it is unlimited and will not reach

its full deterioration. We continue to neglect the catastrophic occurrences that the

environment is trying to present to us and we always do what we want and enjoying the

pleasures while forgetting that every decision we make have an impact to others and to

the environment.

I think the theory of love that the speaker said which is “when you love what you

do, you become very good at it” and “when you love someone, you are inspired to

protect him or her” can be applied and relate to us and in the issues of the environment.

Like, if we start to love our environment, we will be also inspired to protect it and we will

do everything we can just to preserve it since it is the one that sustains us in our living. I

really agree to it because everything that we do out of love makes everything good.

The principle that the speaker said which is anything we do goes back to us

captured my attention because it is really true. If we do not take care of our environment

now, we will pay for it afterwards. Our mother earth is suffering now because of the

neglecting and undervaluing we do and if we continue to abuse and not regulate the use

of our natural resources, we will end up suffering too in the near future because of our

own doings.
Moreover, I agree to what the speaker said that education and awareness is the

key to solve this drastic problem of the environment. People should be encouraged to

save the environment because each one of us has a vital role to play in creating

awareness in order to awaken the masses to the gravity of environmental issues. Every

small act can make a huge difference. Immediate precautionary measures have to be

put into effect. This environmental issue should be a concern for all of us, not only those

people who see its effects because it does not mean that if you do not see it, it is not

really there because we are now creating a lifelong damage to our environment and I

know it will soon make us pay and suffer. Being enlightened and aware is crucial to

becoming a society that cares for the environment with the same care and love as we

have to ourselves and it can create ripples of change for the Philippines.
