MUSEUM CURATOR I: (Botany and National Herbarium Division); Place of


Assignment: Manila; SG-22; Salary/Month: P65,319.00; Item No.: NMB-MUSC1-61-
2016; EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree relevant to the job; EXPERIENCE: 3 years of
relevant experience; TRAINING: 16 hours of relevant training; ELIGIBILITY: Museum
Technician (MC No. 10 s. 2013 – Cat. II).

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assists in drawing and planning program and projects to determine consistency


with policies of the agency and monitors implementation of the project;
2. Assists in executing, direction and supervising the collection, classification,
identification, and maintenance of botanical specimens;
3. Acts as Chief of the Division or Curator II in the absence of the latter;
4. Conducts independent research on botany within division programs and projects;
and
5. Coordinates and prepares periodic reports of the division;
6. Performs other function as provided by R.A. 8492;
7. Does administrative and other related work.

SENIOR MUSEUM RESEARCHER : (Botany and National Herbarium Division); Place


of Assignment: Manila; SG-18; Salary/Month; P40,637.00; Item No.: NMB-SRMR-67-
2016; EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree; EXPERIENCE: 1 year of relevant experience;
TRAINING: 4 hours of relevant training; ELIGIBILITY: Career Service
Eligibility/Second Level Eligibility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assists the division in planning, organizing and supervising the conduct of


systematic research in the field of botany;
2. Proposes division research through fieldwork and/or laboratory/collection;
3. Conducts own research in a specialized field through field work and/or material
analysis;
4. Disseminates educational information by participating in lectures, symposia,
seminars, fora, conferences, etc.;
5. Monitors and coordinates linkages, collaborative research, academic exchange
with local/international research and/or academic institutions;
6. Supervises activities of personnel (researchers, technicians, artist illustrator,
laboratory aide) directly involve in fieldwork and other division work;
7. Provides technical assistance to the general public;
8. Performs other functions as provided by R.A. 8492 and 10066 and other relevant
laws enacted by the government.

MUSEUM RESEARCHER II : (Botany and National Herbarium Division); Place of


Assignment: Manila; SG-14; Salary/Month; P27,755.00; Item No.: NMB-MUSR2-
45-2016; EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree; EXPERIENCE: 1 year of relevant
experience; TRAINING: 4 hours of relevant training; ELIGIBILITY: Career Service
Eligibility/Second Level Eligibility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Conducts systematic and applied researches in the field of Botany;


2. Conducts own researches in specialized field;
3. Conducts fieldwork for the purpose of collection, identification and classification of
botanical specimens;
4. Supervises the personnel directly involved in his specified section/unit;
5. Disseminates educational/technical information through lectures, seminars and
workshops;
6. Participates in relevant seminars, conferences and symposia;
7. Supervises the works of Museums Technicians in the field and in the processing
and maintenance of collected specimens both in the field and laboratory;
8. Provides technical assistance/data on the exhibition of botanical materials to the
Museum Services Division;
9. Extends/provides technical assistance to students, researches, teachers, etc.;
10. Prepares technical reports and research articles/manuscripts for publication;
11. Does related work.

MUSEUM TECHNICIAN II : (Botany and National Herbarium Division); Place of


Assignment: Manila; SG-08; Salary/Month P16,758.00; Item No.: NMB-MUST2-44-
2007; EDUCATION: Completion of two years studies in college; EXPERIENCE: 1 year
of relevant experience; TRAINING: 4 hours of relevant training; ELIGIBILITY: Museum
Technician (MC No. 10 s. 2013 – Cat. II).

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assists the researchers in conducting researches by collecting data in the field of


Botany and Herbarium;
2. Prepares botanical specimens for analysis and does evaluative studies;
3. Sorts or segregates botanical specimens and does preliminary identification;
4. Mounts, preserves and accessions botanical collections;
5. Helps in the maintenance of botanical specimens collected;
6. Extends technical assistance to researchers, students and scientists;
7. Performs other function as provided by RA 8492; and
8. Does related work.
