LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the learners will able to
a.) Identify regular and irregular verbs;
b.) Appraise the value of regular and irregular verbs; and
c.) State the importance of regular and irregular verbs through pantomime.

III. PROCEDURE

1. Preliminaries

• checking of attendance
• class orderliness

2. Review
the teachers will ask the following questions:
•who can tell what is descriptive verb?
•who can tell what are the three (3) types of descriptive verb?
•give me example/s of regular and irregular verbs.

3. Motivation
"Mystery Box"

•The teachers will instruct the learners to:

a. Pick a piece of paper from the box.


b. Read the words from the piece of paper loudly and clearly to the class.

•they will Identify the following words written from the paper either it's regular and
irregular verb.

•they will be given 10 seconds to identify the word.


•the teacher will process the student's answer.

4. Lesson Presentation

• Presentation of objective and lesson

Regular verbs- Regular verbs form their past and past participle forms by adding - ed.
examples: walk-walked-walked dance-danced-danced paint-painted-painted Irregular verbs-
irregular verbs form their past and past participle forms in different ways. There are mainly
three types of irregular verbs.

•Verbs in which all the three forms are the same. Example (put-put-put)

•Verbs in which two of the three forms are the same. Example (sit-sat-sat)

•Verbs in which all three forms are different. Example (drink-drank-drunk ) Some verbs can
be both regular and irregular.

Examples:

Burn-burnt-burnt (irregular) Burn-burned-burned (regular)

Dream-dreamt-dreamt (irregular) Dream-dreamed-dreamed (regular)

A. ACTIVITY
"Message relay"

 -The teacher will divide the class into 3 groups.


 - Each group should have at least 10 participants.
 -The group should be in vertical line, the first member of the group will be given 2
words.
 - Then, he/she will relay the words up to the last member of the line.
 - The last member/participant of the group will pronounce and determines whether
which the regular and irregular verb is.
 -The group who gathered correct answer will be announced as winner.

Total 40 points

B. ANALYSIS
 What are your strategies?
 How did you identify the words from regular to irregular verbs?
 How did you pronounce the words?

C. ABSTRACTION
 What is regular and irregular verb?
 What are the examples?
 When are we going to use regular and irregular verb?
 Are regular and irregular verbs important in communication? Why?
 The teachers will process the answer of the students and will conclude the said
discussion.
D. Application (Oral Recitation)
