I. OBJECTIVES

IV. PROCEDURE
A. Pre-Discussion
1. Daily Routine a. Classroom Management

c. Checking of Attendance

2. Motivation THREE PICS ONE WORD


The class will be divided into four groups. The
groups need to guess four words and each word
will have three pictures as a clue. The clues
have corresponding points. The lesser clues you
need the more points you get. The group with
the highest number of points wins the game.

Guess the word with:


- 1st picture (10 points)
- 2nd picture (5 points)
- 3rd picture (3 points)
- number of letters (1 point)

= ANGEL

= BLUE

= ATHLETE

Questions:
1. How many pictures did you need to find
the answer?
2. Do you think you will be able to guess the
word if only one picture will be shown?
3. What part of speech do these words
belong to?

B. During Discussion 1. The teacher will ask some students to use the
words from the game to describe somebody
or something.
2. Subject Complement is defined as:
 A word or phrase (usually an adjective
phrase, a noun phrase or pronoun) that
follows a linking verb and describes or
renames the subject of the sentence, also
called subjective complement
 This can be a predicate nominative or a
predicate adjective

3. Post Discussion
1. Developing Mastery FISHING GAME
The class will have the same group from the first
game (Three Pics One Word). Each group will
have three representatives. The players of the
game need to complete sentences that are
assigned to them. They will have to fish subject
complements from the word pool and match it to
the sentence.

Each team will have to catch different


underwater endangered species. They have to
make sure that the thought of sentence is
complete or the subject complement that has
been chosen matches the subject of the
sentence for them to get the point.

The collected score from this game will be added


to the score from the first game to identify the
group winner. These are the species they have
to catch.

complements. They will tell what they
understand from the discussion in the video.

V. EVALUATION: ACTIVITY
There will be a five-item quiz for the student to
answer.
The class will create a chart in their notebooks
identifying the subject, the complement and the
type of subject complement. They are given 10
minutes to answer and check the answers.

and identify its type whether it is Predicate

answers in your notebooks.
