III. PROBLEM PRESENTED

The biological maternal uncle of the patient prompted to seek social case study report from the
attending social worker because his nephew was victimized by a Kawasaki disease , thus then
immediate family cannot afford the hospital bill incurred at children’s hospital.
IV. FINDINGS
De Marcuz R. Caldejon is 3 years old and the second child of Mr. and Mrs Mark Aaron Caldejon
and Dorothy Rocero who are live inn partners for almost six (6) years. Mark Aaron who works as a
laborer is earning minimal and irregular which could hardly suffice the basic need of the family.
Dorothy R. Rocero as the biological mother of De Marcuz was confine only for her two children
who are all boys and on their formative stage of development. As disclosed by the maternal uncle De
Marcuz R. Caldejon who is subject for assistance, the present ill health of the patient made the entire
family economically, psychologically and emotionally disadvantaged as subject for assistance has to
undergo medical intervention to ensure complete recovery. Hence the immediate family of the
patient belongs to indigent family such ill health condition of De Marcuz, the family is facing a
huger burden as to where to extract the needed amount. No financial source can be identified at this
point in time. The father who is a mere laborer who lacks occupational skills cannot even augment a
small amount because his daily income is enough only in buying a ganta of rice to sustain only the
hand to mouth existence , thus all basic needs is always deprived.
Per information gathered by the undersigned, the immediate family was caught unaware that
their child De Marcuz suffered Kawasaki Disease which can harm the victim anytime if not given
preferential medical intervention. Considering the distance from San Fernando Romblon to
Children’s Hospital bringing the patient alone needs considerable amount thereby, the immediate
family has borrowed money from benevolent relatives and friend’s which until now remains unpaid.
As narrated further, by the maternal biological uncle who serve as the informant, said patient was
seldom inflicted with fever and simple colds but easily cured. They will surprise why De Marcuz
suffered such Kawasaki disease where San Fernando, Romblon was endowed with balance
biodiversity, due to the presence of thickly forested mountains thus free from pollution. So, such
terrible virus made the poor family more financially handicapped made by a Kawasaki disease.
Life is so precious thus, the immediate poor family prompted to seek possible social case study
report from the attending social worker for the best interest of a child. Child friendly hospital like
children’s hospital where the patient is presently confined is really an asset to the poor family who
urgently need medical intervention.
ACTION TAKEN
1. Office interview of grandfather;
2. Made Social Case Study Report;
3. Provide medical assistance
V. RECOMMENDATION
Based from the above findings and justification, then above mentioned subject for assistance is
very much eligible to avail free medical intervention as his family belongs to indigent.
In like manner the undersigned worker respectfully recommend possible free medical
intervention in order to save the life of the child and also for the best interest of the child..
