Ogle-Lee Retired Teachers' Association Membership Meeting – July 11, 2017

The summer Membership Meeting of the Ogle-Lee Retired Teachers' Association was held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017
beginning with a social hour at 11:00 A.M., business meeting at Noon, lunch at 12:30 PM followed by the program at
the First Presbyterian Church in Rochelle. Diane Kenney and Carole Sutton provided table decorations of cigar boxes
with cigar cookie favors. Marvel Blomberg coordinated luncheon reservations, Sharon Bayme and Linda Kenney
collected the $15 registration fees, and Elke Grennan distributed name tags. Seventy-six members and guests
attended.

Co- Presidents Jean Whipple and Jean Hoff conducted the meeting. Joe Thiele led the Pledge of Allegiance and then
gave the Invocation before the meal was served. The buffet meal catered by Raphie & LuLu's featured Pulled Pork on
Vienna rolls, seven-layer salad, fresh fruit salad, potato chips, mini cherry cheesecakes, water, ice tea, and coffee.

Members were encouraged to sign up for the IRTAPAC $1 monthly deduction from their pension checks. Out of 477
Ogle-Lee RTA members, 20% have already signed up for IRTAPAC. Donation baskets for the IRTA Political Action
Committee and the IRTA Legal Defense Fund were on the Registration Table. Attendees donated $75 to IRTA-PAC
and $200 to the Legal Defense Fund at the meeting. Members who donated to either fund were invited to take a cigar
box.

The minutes from the April 4, 2017 Membership Meeting and the June 13, 2017Board Meeting were accepted by
consensus as printed.

The treasurer's report as of July 2, 2017 was accepted by consensus as printed. The checking account balance was
$7,668.87, the Memorial Account balance was $1,615.81 with a $1,000 bequest from the Richard Wood Estate, and
the Life Account balance was $7,587.37. Total assets were $16,872.05.

There was no old business.

There were no nominations from the floor for the 2018/19 vacancies of office: President or Co-Presidents, Legislative
Representative, and Webmaster. Members interested in any of these positions were requested to contact any Board
Member and will be voted upon by the membership at the October 10, 2017 Membership Meeting.

Jean Whipple discussed the proposed changes to the Ogle-Lee RTA Constitution and By-Laws that were approved by
the Executive Board at the June 13, 2017 Board Meeting. The membership will vote on the proposed changes at the
October 10, 2017 Membership Meeting.

Loretta Bell, Necrology, memorialized the following members who passed away in 2016: Joanne Grace Hill Tarbox
Styles, Marquerite D. Thomas, Retta Jean Keithley, Price Barnes, Richard G. Wood, Ray Appler, Charles W.
Hayes, Albert J. Tieken, Nathan F. Johnson, Mildred Brown, Harold R. French, and Geraldine Jeanette French.

Co-Vice President Diane Kenney introduced retired teachers Terry Dickow and Dan Graber, who spoke and showed
pictures of their trip to Cuba with Roads Scholar, provider of educational travel tours geared for older adults.

Jean Hoff thanked Jean Whipple, Co-Vice Presidents Diane Kenney and Carole Sutton for table favors and program,
Secretary Elke Grennan, Treasurer Linda Kenney, Registration Assistant Sharon Bayme, Calling Coordinator Marvel
Blomberg and Callers, Loretta Bell for Memorials,Terry Dickow and Dan Graber for the Cuba program, and Jan Aubry,
MaryAnne Louis, and Phil Bratta for their assistance in room set-up and buffet service.

The autumn 2017 Luncheon Membership Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 10 at the Lutheran Outdoors
Ministries Center on Rt. 2, Oregon. The program will feature KSB Hospital Dietician Gail Beck and AMBA
Representative Chris Gluck.

Members were invited to attend the remaining 2017 Ogle-Lee Board of Directors Meetings to be held at the Byron
Public Library beginning at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesdays September 12 and November 14.
