Lesson 2, Activity 1

1. How does participating in a LAC affect or influence your self-learning? Draw a diagram to illustrate
the relationship between the two and give a brief explanation of your drawing.

It is said that sharing your thoughts while at the same time listening to others’ opinion or
viewpoints is an essential characteristic that a leader should have. Through LAC Sessions, we can
learn new things while collaborating with other school heads. Having the opportunity to talk with
people who have the same workload as you can be a good learning experience.

2. Reflect on the objectives for conducting LAC sessions as listed in DO 35, s. 2016:
 To improve the teaching-learning process to improve learning among students
 To nurture successful teachers
 To enable teachers to support each other to continuously improve their content and pedagogical
knowledge, practice, skills, and attitudes
 To foster a professional collaborative spirit among school heads, teachers, and the community as
whole
What are the challenges to having a successful LAC? Write down the top three challenges in your
Study Notebook.
Just like other important endeavors, there are also challenges that we must face in order to have a
successful LAC. These are just some of the following:
1. Heavy Workload
Because teachers have so many things to do, there are times when LAC sessions seem
additional burden to them. However, if objectives in doing so are clearly explained, teachers
will be delighted to attend LAC sessions to gain additional knowledge.
2. Conflict in Schedule
Because of overlapping activities that teachers face, there are times where they can not have
the time to attend LAC sessions.
3. Disinterest among Teachers
When they feel that a lesson will not benefit them, teachers may still attend the session but
will not listen to the topics being discussed. They will just use their phones or do other
things while the session is ongoing.
