Descriptive/Qualitative Adjectives
► Convey the shape, colour, size, condition, etc.
of a noun
► E.g. The old and tattered book belongs to Ali.
► The blue telephone was bought
recently.
► Quantitative Adjectives
Convey the amount or number of things
E.g. Have you any tea ?
► Jessica made many mistakes in her work.
Distributive Adjectives
► Indicate whether the persons or things
classified by the nouns are taken singly or in a
group
► E.g. Each child was given a name-tag.
► Neither of us understands the teacher.
► Demonstrative Adjectives
