Last meeting, we tackled Use plural form of


regular nouns by adding /s/ or /es/.
Can someone give examples of plural form of
regular nouns by adding ”s”?
(Pupils will raise their hand to answer)
Very good! Sir, Dog-Dogs; Chair-Chairs; Bag-Bags.
What about plural form of regular nouns by
adding ”es”?

(Pupils will raise their hand to answer)

Today, we will be discussing about Use of


Plural Form of Frequently Occurring Irregular
Nouns.

When we say plural, what does it mean class?

Sir, it means two or more.


Very good! How about Noun? Can anyone
remember the meaning of noun in our past
lesson?

Noun is the name of person, place,


things, animals, or events.
Well said! Now, if we look at the meaning of
Irregular Nouns, it is a noun that becomes
plural by changing its spelling in other ways
than adding an “s” or “es” to the end of the
word.

Example of Plural form of irregular nouns are:

a. Ox – Oxen

b. Octopus – Octopi

c. Foot – Feet

d. Child – Children

e. Goose - Geese

What can you observe with these examples?


Sir, when the singular word becomes
plural, it does not end with “s” or “es”,
but it changes with their spelling.
