RECRUITMENT:
Recruitment in Hindustan petroleum cooperation limited
(HPCL) is internal i.e. HPCL do direct recruitment using advertisement as a communication
medium for the same but there are also few instances wherein company go to tier 1
colleges like IIT’s,NIT’s for campus recruitment .
If we talk about the recruitment timing in HPCL so there is no hard and fast recruitment
timing the recruitment process totally depends upon the business requirement of the
company.
Recruitment policy in HPCL is to hire the right people for the organisation (in terms of
technical and most importantly on the basis of behavioural competencies), to enable
business in a timely manner, to create a talent pool for the organisation.

CHALLENGES FACED BY HPCL DURING RECRUITMENT PROCESS


Some of the challenges faced during recruitment process are as follows:

 As oil PSUs generally conduct recruitment process in the similar frame, so the
organisation won’t be assess as how many of the shortlisted candidates will join and
how many vacancies will be left.
 As HPCL is guided by various laws and directives, it is very tricky to handle exceptional
cases viz a viz PWD, OBC and other special category people so these cases need to be
handled very professionally.

SELECTION:
The selection process is based on following tests:

 Written Test/GATE
 GT( Group Task)
 Personal Interview
 Medical examination

WRITTEN TEST:
 The written examination is computer based test comprising of technical test and
general aptitude test
