1. Activity 1:
 Have discussions about cooking by asking questions. E.g. Can you cook? Do you like
cooking? What would you like to cook? etc
 Encourage pupils to answer.
2. Activity 2:
 Hold up the book and discuss the title of the story. (SB pg 62-63)
 Pupils look at the pictures and guess what the story is going to be about.
 Invite pupils to name any foods/drinks they recognise in the pictures.
II. LESSON
DEVELOPMENT  Play the CD and ask pupils to point to each speech bubble and follow along. (track 98)
 Talk about what happens in each frame and ask pupils about Fay’s cooking skills at each
stage.
 Ask questions to check comprehension. (refer to TB pg 98 after reading activity)
3. Activity 3:
 Ask pupils to do a role play of a cooking competition. (groups or as a whole class)
 Pupils decide who will be the teacher, and others decide what they will cook for the
competition.
 Give feedback on performance and focus on common problems you found in the activity.
