Introductory Speech

A pleasant afternoon to all attendees of this zoom meeting. Hoping that we are all
possess a positive…. Outlook even in the midst of pandemic.

It is obvious that we are all affected by this crisis that we are currently facing. Instead
of doing this meeting in one room, looking at each other face-to-face, we are instead
looking at our virtual selves. It may be difficult and challenging as we face the new
normal but let’s look at this situation in a half-glass full perspective.

As what John F. Kennedy stated, “When written in Chinese, the word ‘crisis’ is
composed of two characters. One represents danger and the other represents
opportunity.” This a an opportunity for Samar State University to develop an
operational and efficient Crisis management strategic plan that is essential in
identifying, evaluating, managing and monitoring the risks that University faces now
or in the future.

Let us be one in providing solution in combating this crisis, because TOGETHER, we

can achieve MORE.
