the state of Maharashtra. This Road is recently
declared as New National Highway No. 561 vide

2017. In this highway stretch the wearing surface of
carriageway has mostly worn out.

General Description
1) Introduction :
This highway start from its junction with NH-61 near Ahmednagar in state of
Maharashtra & connecting Chincholi patil, Kada, Ashti, Jamkhed, Tamba Rajuri, Therla,
Pithi, Rajuri Navgan and terminating at its junction with NH-52 near Beed in the state of
Maharashtra. This Road is recently declared as New National Highway No. 561 vide
gazette no. 13E of Govt.of India dated 3rd January 2017. This proposed highway stretch
starts from its junction with NH 61 near Ahmednagar and terminating at its junction with
NH-52 near Beed. The details of length passing through the districts are as follows.

Most of the highway length is passes through Ahmednagar, Beed districts area.
The highway carries the interstate commercial goods traffic from Western Maharastra to
Marathwada and vice versa. The highway carries local passenger traffic and vehicles
supplying vegetable and horticultural products to Pune and Mumbai. The highway carries
local Sugercane and its product. One sugar factory lies along this road. As per May 2019
traffic census, the traffic intensity in Beed disirict is as below.

2) Present Condition of the Road


The existing crust of the highway is made up of W.B.M. and B.T of having a two
lane carriageway width 7.00 m from KM 38+000 to 55+000 & 70+000 to 73+000 except
carriageway width 9.00 m from KM 43+700 to 44+000, 51+900 to 52+900, is in bad
condition. In this highway stretch the wearing surface of carriageway has mostly worn out.
The surface also shows map cracking at some places and has developed big pot holes at
various loacations Presently due to heavy traffic and city portion area and rain fall during
mansoon of June-2020 the large nos. of pot holes are developed and road surface is
sinking at B.T. edge at many places. As the length having big potholes and undulations on
the surface. The last treatment given to this stretch is in 2015-16 through by state P.W.D.
In considerig the above fact the above work is taken, under Periodical Renewal
Programme 2020-21.

3) Proposal :-
Following provisions are made in the estimate
1 BT Surface is worn out big pot holes on surface so 10 % Pot holes & Camber
correction filling by 50 mm BM with 3.4% Bitumen is considered

2 Overlay with 50mm DBM 4.5% Bitumen for 29% area and Wearing course 30
mm BC is considered for entire area.
3 Construction of Hard murum side shoulders with approved material obtained
from borrow pits with watering and compcation.
4 Road Marking with Hot Applied Thermoplastic Compound with Reflectorizing
GlassBeads on Bituminous Surface.
5 Providing and fixing of retro reflectorised informatory signboard,
Cautionary/Warning sign boards in Equilateral Triangle 900 mm.
Mandatory/Regulatory sign boards in circular shape of 600 mm dia Cat Eyes
etc.
4 ) Authority :-
The above said work proposal is approved Periodical Renewal Plan 2020-21
vide CE letter No CE(NH)/P-2/PR 2020-21/2549/2020, Dated 15-09-2020 at Sr.
no. 00 for Rs. 8.25 Cr. for 10 km Stretch.
5 ) Rates :-
The rate adopted in the original estimate are as per eSSR 2020-21 of
State Level which is based on Ministry's Data book for rate analysis. The
Bitumen rates considered in the Estt is wef 01/10/2020.
6 ) Specification
The work will be executed as per M.O.S.T specifications for Road and
Bridges 2013 Edition and as directed by Engineer in Charge
Defect liability period for this work is 1 Years
7 ) Estimte Cost :-
The cost of work Rs. 799.91 Lakh
This road was inspected by Executive Engineer and Sub Divisional
Engineer National Highway Division, Latur on Dated 20.07.2020 and above
Provisions are necessarry according to Road Condition.
