1. GENERAL
1.1. ATIS

1.2. NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES


1.2.1. ENGINE TEST
Cross bleed start and engine test higher than idling is forbidden at any stand in
the apron. For cross bleed start and engine test higher than idling, the handling
agent must submit the application to the Operations Center. The authorization
must be formalized in writing before the test is performed.

1.3. LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURES (LVP)


1.3.1. GENERAL
LVP shall be applied when:
- RVR is less than 550m; or
- in the event of transmissometer failure, the general VIS in the maneuvering
area is less than 800m.
LVP shall be cancelled when:
- RVR is greater than 1200m; or
- in the event of transmissometer failure, the general VIS in the maneuvering
area is greater than 1200m; or
- RVR is greater than 800m for at least 15 minutes; or
- in the event of transmissometer failure, the VIS is greater than 1000m for at
least 15 minutes.
Pilots shall be informed that the LVP are in force by means of the ATIS.
1.3.2. TAKE-OFFS
RWY 02/20 are authorized for LVTO.
With RVR less than or equal to 800m, take-offs from intersection are not permit-
ted and the maneuvering area is cleared.
1.3.3. GROUND MOVEMENTS
Only one ACFT is permitted to move in the movement area during the application
of the LVP. TWR shall not clear access to the maneuvering area for any vehicle
except those indispensable to the operation which are equipped with radiotele-
phone and in permanent contact with TWR. The stop bars will be used to manage
the surface movements in the maneuvering area.
Entry to RWY:
- Entry to RWY 02 may only be performed by E6 via TWY T.
- Entry to RWY 20 may only be performed by E1 via TWY T.
Arrivals:
- ACFT that have landed shall report "RWY free" when they have vacated the
RWY.
- On entering the parking apron, they shall hold at the designated gate L2 or L3,
and once the presence of the Follow-me vehicle to guide them to the desig-
nated stand has been confirmed, they shall report "follow me in sight" to
TWR.
- If guidance for taxiing has been requested, the ACFT shall await the Follow-
me vehicle on the TWY, ensuring that the RWY is vacated, reporting the hold-
ing position and the arrival of the vehicle to TWR.

1. GENERAL
Departures:
TWR shall inform pilots of the application of the LVP.
With RVR less than 200 m, guidance shall be given on the apron from the stand to
taxiing. Once push-back has finished, or the ACFT has halted on the inner TWY
following the autonomous exit maneuver, the Tecnico Operaciones en el Area de
Movimiento (TOAM) / Marshaller shall be awaited to guide the ACFT up to the
apron gate where the TWY centerline lights start. There it shall hold until the
TOAM withdraws before continuing to taxi.
If guidance for taxiing has been requested, once push-back has finished, or the
ACFT has halted on the inner TWY following the autonomous exit maneuver, the
TOAM shall be awaited to guide the ACFT up to the stop bar at the designated
RWY threshold. There it shall hold until the TOAM withdraws and await orders
from TWR.
For Low Visibility Take-Offs (LVTO) the following RWY holding positions should
be used:
- RWY 02 - E6 (CAT I)
- RWY 20 - E1 (CAT I)
1.3.4. ANOMALOUS SITUATIONS IN THE MANEUVERING AREA
1.3.4.1. UNCERTAINTY ABOUT POSITION IN THE MANEUVERING AREA
If a pilot is in doubt about the position of the ACFT in relation to the maneuver-
ing area, they must immediately halt the ACFT and report this circumstance to
ATC (including the last known position).
If a pilot is in doubt about the position of the ACFT in relation to the maneuver-
ing area, but recognizes that the ACFT is on a RWY, the pilot shall immediately
report this to ATC (including the last known position), and vacate the RWY as
soon as possible, if they can find an appropriate TWY nearby, unless ATC should
indicate otherwise and then halt the ACFT.
1.3.4.2. LOSS OF VISUAL CONTACT BETWEEN TRAFFIC
In the event that one ACFT loses visual contact with another, or with a vehicle
with which it is maintaining its own separation, ATC shall be informed immedi-
ately, and the ACFT halted. ATC shall take the measures that it shall deem fit.
1.3.4.3. BREAKDOWN OF ACFT
ACFT shall report the situation to ATC and await the arrival of assistance. Should
it find itself on a RWY, if possible and unless ATC should indicate otherwise, this
shall be vacated.
1.3.4.4. COMMUNICATION FAILURE
If an ACFT operating in the maneuvering area should suffer a communications
failure, it shall proceed as follows:
Departing ACFT:
- If the ACFT already has ATC taxiing clearance, it shall continue by the desig-
nated route and halt at the limit of the ATC clearance, taking extreme care,
where it shall hold and await the arrival of an assistance vehicle.
Arriving ACFT:
- If the ACFT has just landed, it shall hold on vacating the RWY and await the
arrival of an assistance vehicle.
- If the ACFT already has ATC taxiing clearance, it shall continue by the desig-
nated route and halt at the limit of the ATC clearance, taking extreme care,
where it shall hold and await the arrival of an assistance vehicle.

1.6. PROCEDURES FOR CODE LETTER 4E ACFT


Code letter 4E ACFT and ACFT type 767-400 and MD11 that will follow the proce-
dure as code letter E may only use TWY E1, E6, T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, L2. Only one
ACFT will be authorized to taxi in the maneuvering area at a time.

2. ARRIVAL
2.1. SPEED RESTRICTIONS
2.1.1. SPEED ADJUSTMENT UNDER RADAR CONTROL
- MAX 250 KT at or below FL 120.
- 210 KT at the beginning of the final turn to intercept the ILS LOC course, when
the ACFT is located within 20NM of THR.
- 180 KT once the final turn is completed and once established on the ILS LOC
course, when the ACFT is located within 20NM of THR.
- 160 KT when crossing the NDB ‘JER’.
- ACFT with cruising speed lower than mentioned above shall maintain their
cruising speed up to the adjusting fix concerned.

2.2. TAXI PROCEDURES


For entrance operations to apron, pilots will contact Ground for taxiing instruc-
tions. ACFT will wait for the Follow-me vehicle. Taxiing to apron and stand shall
be accomplished with the Follow-me vehicle.

3. DEPARTURE
3.1. START-UP AND PUSH-BACK PROCEDURES
3.1.1. GENERAL
Pilots shall contact Ground clearance to start up and to initiate push-back maneu-
ver; providing the ACFT call sign and the stand occupied. This maneuver shall not
take more than 15 minutes from when clearance is received.
Clearance will be issued as soon as requested, unless delays of over 15 minutes
are expected. In such cases, ATC will tell the ACFT to hold position and the time
when these maneuvers may be accomplished.
The time between push-back accomplishment and the start of taxiing shall be
3 minutes at the most. After this time, should some problem or breakdown make
it impossible to taxi, the pilot shall report this to TWR and request the handling
agent to tow the ACFT to a stand, leaving the apron TWY free.
3.1.2. PUSH-BACK
In order to ensure the total safety of the towed push-back maneuvers above, it is
necessary to establish the following conditions:
- If ACFT parked in stand 3, 8 or 8A have been cleared to initiate the push-back
maneuver, ACFT parked in stand 2 and 9 are not allowed to request clearance
to taxi, and they shall wait for the ACFT engaged in the push-back maneuver
to initiate taxiing, before requesting clearance.
- For safety reasons, ATC will not clear towed push-back simultaneously with
another ACFT until the first one has started taxiing and passed the position of
the second.
- In order to ensure that ground operations are accomplished in a safe and effi-
cient way, the Apron Safety Regulations shall be taken into account at all
times.
Embarkation/disembarkation for ACFT parked at stand 5 must be suspended dur-
ing the operation of ACFT exit from stand 6A.
3.1.3. TAXI PROCEDURES
Autonomous exit from stands 1, 2, 6A, 8A, 9, 10, 11, 11E and 12, shall be accom-
plished using the minimum power possible during start-up, in such a way that
idling is not exceeded while turning.
Towed push-back maneuver is mandatory on stands 3 thru 8, except 6A and 8A
that are autonomous exit.
ACFT must be ready for towed push-back within the 5 minutes following the
approved start-up time; otherwise pilot shall inform ATC.
Exit from towed push-back stands (3 thru 8, except 6A and 8A) shall be accom-
plished leaving the apron by L2 or L3. TWR will inform pilots of the RWY-in-use:
"RWY IN USE 02/20", as appropriate, the pilot reporting this to the coordinator,
and this latter to the towing truck driver.
The push-back will be carried out orientating the ACFT towards exit L2 with
RWY 20 in use, and towards L3 with RWY 02 in use.

Birds concentration on RWY 02/20 and in the vicinity of AD.
Radio Failure
ACFT with radio failure shall enter CTR from REPs E or W observing RWY in use in accordance with
facilities AVBL (ATIS, traffic in sight, etc.). They will proceed from REP W to the position of tail wind
abeam TWR without crossing the train track, where they will make 360° turns in front of TWR at
500' SFC or lower, expecting to receive visual signals from TWR.
They will proceed from REP E to the position of the tail wind abeam TWR without crossing the South
highway E5/AP4, where they will make 360º turns in front of TWR and between it and the tailwind sec-
tion, at a height of 500' SFC or lower, expecting to receive visual signals from TWR.
They also may contact tower by telephone by number shown on chart 19-1.

Arrivals
Pilots shall establish contact to JEREZ TWR 3 MIN prior to entering the CTR. Enter CTR via E (Jédula) or W
(Mesas de Asta). After receiving instructions from TWR ACFT shall proceed the first third tailwind leg of traffic
circuit (visual reference: opposite threshold of the RWY in use).
TWR may request ACFT to hold over W or E.
Maintain 1000' SFC within the CTR.
When traffic requires so, JEREZ TWR may instruct ACFT in AD circuit to accomplish "Holds to the East" or
"Holds to the West ". These holding patterns will consist of a visual procedure in which an ACFT on the tail-
wind leg, which is ready to turn to the base leg, makes a 90º turn away from RWY to begin a mirror image of
AD traffic circuit, joining it again on the first third of the tailwind leg. ACFT will always begin the holding pat-
tern from the last third of the tailwind leg, even if instructed to do so before reaching it. Likewise, TWR may
also instruct its return to AD traffic circuit at any time.

Departures
ACFT shall climb in headwind leg to reach 1000' SFC and then turn proceeding directly to E or W climbing to
2000' SFC (or 1000' SFC below the clouds ceiling, whichever is lower). When necessary TWR may require a
turn to the exit points before reaching 1000' SFC.

HEL Operations
At AD, as no specific zone for OPS with HELs is defined, these shall be treated as fixed-wing ACFT and shall be
cleared by ATC to land and TKOF on RWY 02/20. Taxiing proper shall be carried out via TWYs, which are also
designated for the use of fixed-wing ACFT, and this may be air or GND taxiing, depending on the type of HEL.
HEL Arrivals
Arriving HELs shall APCH AD at RWY 02/20. They shall land and start GND taxiing or air taxiing along RWY
itself as determined by the type of HEL.
Whenever possible, they shall vacate RWY via exit TWY E4 or E3 and shall be cleared by ATC, unless as may be
otherwise determined for reasons of weather, TFC, works in the zone, to taxi up to gate L4 or L3 correspond-
ing to the exit TWY used, where they shall follow the instructions of the FOLLOW-ME vehicle which shall guide
them to the stand.
HELs going to PRKG H1/H2/H3/H4/H5 shall vacate RWY preferably via exit TWY E4 to access the apron by
TWY L4.
HELs going to PRKG H9 and H10 shall vacate RWY preferably via exit TWY E3 to access the apron by TWY L3.

HEL Departures
Departing HELs shall be cleared by ATC, unless as may be otherwise determined for reasons of weather, TFC,
works in the zone, to taxi from the stand up to gate L4 if they are coming from GA Apron (H1/H2/H3/H4/H5),
or up to gate L3 if they are coming from the commercial aviation apron (H9 or H10), entering RWY designated
for TKOF via E4 or E3, respectively.
