1. Description
The basic settings of the governor and other important settings must never be done at the diesel engine. A drive
and control system that meets the operating conditions is to be used for this purpose.
- switching and activation of shutdown solenoid to open or closed circuit (contained in external supplementary
device for connection lo 24 VDC voltage output on panel).
These conditions are fulfilled by the governor test bench described below.
Depending on how the governor is equipped, it may be necessary to fit additional external supplementary devices.
ln this case, a basic unit can be connected to the switch cabinet plug. Additional external supplementary devices
can then be connected to this basic unit for e.g. the following functions:

1.4 Operation
1.4.1 General
The test bench contains all protection and monitoring units necessary for operation.
The power supply must be switched on via the master switch OQI .1 built into the switch cabinet door before the test
bench is put into operation.
The indicator lamp 2H18.1 indicates the status signal ,,master switch ON,,.
ln the event of danger, the test bench is shut down via the EMERGENCY OFF switch 2S15. j. Actuation of the
EMERGENCY OFF switch is indicated by the indicator tamp 2H26.1
Once the danger has been eliminated, the EMERGENCY OFF switch must be pulled out to its original position in
order to allow the test bench to be put back into operation.
Before carrying out maintenance or repairwork, switch off system powerwith the master switch OQ1.1 and proiect
it from accidental actuation.
The panel is provided with three voltage outputs of 24V DC for the connection of external supplementary devices.
1.4.2 Drive
The speed of the DC shunt motor 1M7.1, installed for the purpose of driving the governor, is conirolled via the
minisemi 1A7.'1 (see detailed description).
Setpoint input is carried out via the helipot I R8.1 and compared with the actual value via the tacho-generator 1G9.1
installed in the DC shunt motor.
A fault at the minisemi is indicated by the indicator lamp 2H28.1. The time the drive is ON is detected by the hour
meter2P18.1. Thedrive isswitched ON via pushbulton 2526.2, if theoil pump'1M10.1 and motor-protection
breaker oQ2.2 (cooler) are switched on and no drive lault2H28.1is present.
Switching off occurs either via pushbutton 2516.1 or automatically when the oil-pump contactor 2l<20.i, motor
protector breaker OQ2.2 trips, or if there is a drive fault2H2B.j.
Lamp 2H26.2 indicates operation.
lf the EMERGENCY OFF switch is actuated while the drive is operating, the drive motor is brought to a stop by the
minisemi.
Description Section 1.4

The test bench has a compressed-air connection for pneumatic actuation of the governor. The air pressure is
adjusted between 0.1 and 6.5 bar via a precision control valve.
A compressed air supply of 6.5 bar must be provided by the customer. The air must be dry and clean; connect
contamination filters, water separators and oilers in the air supply line if necessary.
The switch cabinet contains all control and safety equipment necessary for operation. The cabinet is cooled
internally by a cabinet-mounted cooler OM2.1 (see detailed description).
The switch cabinet is connected to the test bench terminal box via the plug-in connecting lines provided. The length
of the lines is such that a distance of approx. 5 m can be maintained between the side wall of the cabinet and the

Model: 134.020 22 00
Location: Panel
The thermostat is a built-in device with a 2-position controller and a 3 %-digit LED.
The temperature is detected via a resistance thermometer PT100 (2833.1) to DIN lEC751. At 0'C, the resistance
is '100 ohms and increases by 0.385 ohms for each 'C. lf there is a sensor break or display overflow, the unit
displays a 1 or a flashing ,,1999' respectively.
The 2-position controller has a changeover contact as a relay output. The relay picks up when the actual value is
below the setpoint. This state is displayed by an LED (3).
The setpoint is set to approx. 80 "C via the setpoint potentiometer (3). The setpoint setting is checked by lightly
pressing the setpoint button (1). The switching hysteresis is 10 digits.

Caution!
lnstallation, initial startup and maintenance work may be carried out by qualified specialist personnel.
2.1 lnstallation
Wooden boards of adequate thickness are to be placed on each side between the panel and the governor test
stand to prevent the panel from breaking loose.
The governor test bench ist transported via the three lifting eyes. ln order to prevent damage to the panel during
transport, set the panel approx. 45' from the longitudinal axis of the governor test bench and put the following items
into place before moving or shipping.
lnstall the governor test bench in the oil collecting pan provided for this purpose on a level, secure and even base. lt
, is not necessary to anchor the test bench to the foundation. The back of the governor test bench must be
accessible for maintenance work.
The switchgear cabinet is transported via the four lifting eyes. The switchgear cabinet should be placed next to the
governor test bench terminal box on the left so that the supplied connecting cables will reach the governor test
bench terminal box.
Depending on the installation configuration, the connecting cables are fed through either the rear or side wall,
through split conduits in the switchgear cabinet base. The cables must be correctly fed through to prevent them
from being damaged.
lf the connecting cables are installed on the floor, they must be protected by a tread plate.
Connect AIXA to A2XA, AIXB to A2XB, AlXC to A2XC, AlXD to A2XD, AIXF to A2XF and AIXG to A4XA.
Feed 4 x 16 mm2 Cu supply line (3/PE) through the switchgear cabinet base and connect to the terminals L1, L2, L3
and PE.
: The supply line must be protected with 3 x 63 A slow-blow fuses and have a clockwise-rotational field.
Harness the cables within the switchgear cabinet to the mounting channel located between the switchgear-cabinet
flooring and connections.
Seal the conduits in order to keep out dust and guarantee proper cooling of the switchgear cabinet.
Description
