Class, I have here a Word puzzle, what you are going to do is
find the words given in the word list. It may be horizontal,
vertical and diagonal.

D I S T A N C E E E Y L V E

Word list:
Speed Distance Step-up Board
Pilot pen Calculate Time Ladder

If you want to answer just raise your hands. Okay? Pupils participate the activity
I want 7 pupils to volunteer here.

Very Good!
Please give them a sexy clap.
ENGAGE

In this point of time, I’m gonna let you watch the The pupils view and listen attentively to
video. Please observe and listen carefully. So that you the Video.
can understand our topic for this morning.

What did you see in the video class? Pupils raise their hands, and start sharing
what they observe and see.
Very Good class...!

EXPLORE

Before we start to our new topic, I want you to group

into two groups. I have here a Step-up Board and pilot
pen. In each group, I need one representative. I want
you to listen attentively and cooperate so that well
have a continuous activity.
Each representative in a group will have a ladder. It
is called a Step-up Board. Each ladder has a
corresponding points. In every step made pupils will
draw a footstep.
The pupil answer the question correctly, he/she will
step up to the ladder by drawing a footstep until they
reach the top.
The pupil who can answer the question will ask
question to his/her opponent. If ever the opponent
can’t answer the question the one who ask question
will step-up.
But before that, lets have a toss coin whoever win
he/she will ask question first.

“Questions is all about division and multiplication”

Are all ready? Yes, we are ready!

Questions :

1. 25÷5=5 (1)
2. 50÷5=10 (2)
3. 20÷5=4 (1) Pupils participate the activity.
4. 100÷50=2 (2)
5. 20×5=100 (1)
6. 30×5=150 (2)

Thank you class for your cooperation..

EXPLAIN

Let’s move on to our topic this morning.

Our topic for today is all about Calculate Distance,
Time and Speed.

Distance – is an amount of space between things.

Speed – is the distance travelled by a body in unit
time.
Time – can be defined as the ongoing and continuous
sequence of events that occur in succession, from the
past through the present to the future.

Let’s tackle first the distance.

I have here a problem solving on how to calculate the
DISTANCE.

1. Jim walked for 4 hours at the speed of 12

kilometers per hour. How far did he travel? To
find the distance, multiply the speed and the
time.

The formula on how to solve the distance is:

Distance = Speed (rate) × Time

Answer: 12×4
= 48 km
Jim traveled 48 km.

Second is, how to calculate the SPEED

2. A cyclist covered 25km in 5 hours. What was

the cyclist’s Speed?

Speed = Distance
Time

= 25
5 = 5km/

The cyclist’s speed was 5km/h.

The third one is how to calculate the TIME

3. How long does driving a distance of 510km at

the Speed of 85km/h take?

Time = Distance
Speed
Pupils, listen the discussion attentively.
= 510
85
= 6 hours

It will take 6 hours to travel 510km at the speed of

85km/h.

Did you understand, class? Yes ma’am!

ELABORATE
Okay, lets have a recap about our lesson.
How to calculate the distance, class? Ma’am!

Distance = Speed (rate) × Time

Okay, very good!

How about the speed, class? Ma’am!

Speed = distance
Time
Very good!

Last one is, How to calculate the Time, class? Ma’am!

Time = distance
Speed

Very good, class!

Anyone here can share their takeaways about our

lesson for this morning? Pupils raise their hands and share.

EVALUATE

I want you to get ¼ sheet of paper, for we will be

having a short quiz just to measure your
understanding.

Find the distance :

1. Time : 3 hours
Speed : 12km/h

Distance = _______

Find the speed :

2. Distance : 960 km
Time : 6 hour

Speed = _______

Find the Time :

3. Distance : 231 km
Speed : 42km/hour

Time : _______

I will give you 5 minutes to answer the questions.

EXTEND
