1.0 PAEW PM welcomed all and Proceeded the meeting Info

1.1 HSE
PAEW PM enquired ARCADIS HSE Engineer about the safety
arrangements and any issues at site.
ARCADIS HSE Engineer informed that, the contractor has to
improve the HSE arrangements at site.
PAEW PM informed that, a joint site visit will be conducted on 16
July 2017 and comments will be issued to the Contractor for
corrective action.
A joint visit has been conducted in BSWTP site, points
highlighted during site visit
L&T
1. Proper cover to drinking water from sun.
2. Covered rest area for the workers.

3. Contractor to Inform in advance for starting of work in
new location, joint visit and inspection for safety L&T
arrangements, proper access arrangements.
4. Proper safety arrangements to excavated trenches.

5. In Micro tunneling location Safety arrangements, lighting

arrangements, ventilation arrangements, access to site,
waste disposal, Gas detection equipment’s and rest area
for helpers are inspected and found OK.
2.0 Construction program

Malcom Pirnie informed Clause 14 Program has been approved. Info

3.0 Progress & Manpower

Progress
PAEW PM enquired about the planned percentage and achieved
percentage.
LTO informed that, planed percentage is 12.92% and achieved is
14.90 %.
Work force
PAEW PM asked L & T details for the work force.
L & T informed that, they have total 315 workers at site including
L & T.
L & T informed that they have achieved 33 % of Omanization
within their company.

Mechanical works

Scope of work: Laying of DN 1600 Carbon Steel pipes of

approximate length 29,200 m.

from existing DN 1000 transmission main leading to following
compounds including connecting pipes (either Carbon Steel or
DI, as detailed in the drawings and BOQ) and valves including
motor operated valves
Electrical works
Electrical scope of work : Provision of electrical power from
MEDC supply systems to the locations of pressure transducers
and MOVs Malcom Pirnie informed that they have received
electrical survey report for Phase-I and under review with them.
SCADA works

Scope of work : Supply and laying of a parallel Fiber Optic Cable

along the new transmission main and connecting the pressure
transducers and MOVs to the SCADA Control Centre at
Bawsher, including the required interfaces, updating existing

screen configurations, etc. at the completion of each phase, to
be compatible with PAEW existing SCADA system. All required
interfaces with the existing recently installed SCADA system
VO for FO cable from 48 Core to 96 core to be approved by PAEW
PAEW.
VO for FO duct to be approved by PAEW.
Next Month Activities

1. L & T Informed that they will be starting MT activity in MT

-2 & 3 during August 2017.
2. L & T informed that they have received approval from
Muscat Municipality for the revised routes and following
up with other authorities for the permits. L & T informed
that they will start the works in Phase –II during August
2017.
3. L & T informed that, they have to pay deposits for MT
where ever crossing main road and the same will be
done as per project requirement.
MAS submitted/Reviewed/Approved
ARCADIS informed that, they have cleared MAS for
1. Plan –B for CS fittings manufactured by M/s Biyani.
2. M/s SAINT GOBAIN, PAM for DI pipes and fittings based
on discussion meeting with the Employer.
3. ARCADIS informed gaskets, Nuts and bolts , Temporary
cathodic protection system, Electrical cables, actuators,
and some small MAS’s not approved.
PAEW PM enquired about the status of the valves.
L & T informed that, they prepare a format for reporting the
production status of valves.
PAEW PM informed to submit the details for FAT.
L & T accepted and informed that they will confirm before 4 Page:

Materials at Site
CS pipes up to second phase available at site.
CS fittings for phase-I 75% available.
Marker tapes available at site.

4.0 Permit and permissions

PAEW enquired about the status about the excavation permits.
L & T informed that, they have no issues with excavation permit
in Phase-I.
L & T informed that they have issues with permits for rerouting at
in CH 8+200.
5.0 Sub-contractors

Malcom Pirnie informed that, L & T has to submit details of L&T

6.0 Financial
LTO enquired about the status of the interim payment application
number -2 and 3. PAEW
PAEW PM informed he will check the status and help to expedite
the payment process.
