1. It is added that vide letter Ref-4 above, Contractor JV has apprised the Engineer
regarding ongoing issues on Feeder Tunnel but till date no action has been taken by
the Engineer. Brief description is forwarded again as under: -
a) Inlet Portal Open Cut Section: -
i) Vide letter Ref-1 above, Contractor JV submitted the revised shop drawings of
cut & cover duly approved by RE (Tunnel) MMP JV & work has been executed
accordingly.
ii) The Engineer is hereby requested to kindly certify due amount of work
executed by Contractor JV, which is not being certify by the Engineer.
b) Outlet Portal Shop Drawings : -
i) Work on outlet portal from RD 4+800 to 5+000 has been executed as per
recommendations by the RE (Tunnel), RE (Civil) & QAM MMP JV but the
Engineer’s office is not approving the same which is hampering the progress.
ii) The Engineer is further requested to provide his decision for application of
shotcrete or grouting on stone riprap at outlet portal from RD 4+800 to 5+000.

c) Tunnel Over Excavation : -

Contractor JV has submitted his stance on Feeder Tunnel over excavation vide
letter Ref-2 above, response of which is still awaited by the Engineer.
d) Proposal of Breast Wall : -
Contractor JV vide letter Ref-3 above submitted proposal of breast wall at outlet
portal for stability and safety of Manpower working at tunnel of portals but no
response has been provided by the Engineer so far.
2. In view of above, the Engineer is hereby requested to kindly give his
decisions/recommendation on above mentioned issues, at the earliest. It is
apprehended that due to above mentioned long outstanding issues and lack of
decision making by consultant on day to day issues pertaining to feeder tunnel,
as work on this critical component of tunnel will be delayed further.
3. Kindly take notice that Contractor JV would claim EOT with allied cost
compensation on account of disruption in progress pursuant to sub clauses 6.3, 6.4,
44.1 & 53.1 GCC.
4. Kindly treat the matter as most urgent & time limited, please.
