The Campus Student Government submitting the Narrative Report, on the recently conducted
Virtual Frosh Day 2020 last October 19, 2020 via facebook live at Campus Student Government
fb page. The activity was spearheaded by the CSG.

This activity is to welcome all the first year students of BPSU-DC as part of the university, to
introduce the culture of the University to the students and to inform them about different
organizations/events that the BPSU-DC can offer and help them to survive college life.

Virtual frosh day 2020

Monday October 19 2020 at exactly 9:00 in the morning, Dinalupihan Campus
conducted the first ever Virtual Frosh Day 2020 via Facebook live headed by the Campus
Student Government (CSG).

The objective of this program is to help and inform our new students regarding what is
happening inside the campus. To promote our future events together with different organizations
and encourage everyone to join our student organizations and showcase their fascinating talents.
To welcome all the first year students of BPSU-DC as part of the university. To introduce the
culture of the University to the students and to inform them about different organizations/events
that the BPSU-DC can offer and help them to survive college life. Moreover, to inspire and give
advices that will help the freshmen to survive in this academic year even if we are in this pandemic.

To formally start the program, the live moderator played the promotional video of BPSU-
DC, followed by a sincere prayer, our national anthem “Lupang Hinirang”, the BPSU Hymn and
lastly, the Dinalupihan Hymn.

Then the Vice President of CSG, Ms. Vernalyn S. Muñoz, define what the first Frosh Day
all about, she said, Frosh Day means a program that welcoming all the freshmen and preparing
them in all events and program that they might join that will improve and boost their skills and
knowledge.

Ms. Rubilene N. Almeron, CSG President gave her opening remarks and a warm welcome
to all audience, especially to the first year students. She gave a quote stated “Pandemic lang yan,
Pinoy tayo.”, and that serve as an inspiration for us to work hard for our dreams even we are in the
new normal.
After that, Mrs. Monica R. Cabanding, the OSAS Chairperson also welcome and encourage
us to strive harder especially with this new way of conducting a class. She said that, “college is
extra challenging that needs more extra time”

Together with the very understanding and beautiful with a heart the Dean of Instruction,
Mrs. Glenda C. Magno, Ed. D, gave a basic orientation about the image of the university and tips
about to survive the college life such as always visit all the BPSU sites and many more. Also, she
encouraged all the students to always visit and keep updated at the Facebook page of OSAS and
CSG for more information and announcements.

Mr. Billy B. Alipio, the Campus Director, stated a simple instruction and advice to conquer
the college life and additionally he welcomed all the first year students in the university as part of
its growing family. After his short speech, there is a quotation “Tugon sa tawag ninyo’y De-kalidad
na serbisyo: Ito ang tatak BPSU”.

Then, a short presentation was played that shows the different organization who are
conducting a lot of exciting activities and events, adapting the new normal. There are about 7

organizations introduced namely: The Sinners & Saints (Dance Organization), Earth Savers Club
(Science), The Music Society, The Neuclipierean (Mathematics), Youth Alive Student Movement.
YASM (Spiritual), the Malasimbo, the BPSU- DC Official Publication, their quote is “Write not
to impress but to influence”, and the Campus Student Government wherein an organization
composed of Student-Leaders and molding individuals who are willing to serve and create a
change.

After introducing the said organizations, Ms. Evangeline Tamayo, a former Peninsulares
gave tips on how to cope up with the challenges during the college years as well as she shared how
BPSU helped her. She added that she was also once a former Malasimbo member and became a
part of Boards of Editor. “Ang Malasimbo ang nagbigay sa akin ng iba’t ibang experience sa
buhay”, she stated. She also added that she will be forever grateful on how BPSU DC molded her
through the years.

At the last part of the program, a short virtual tour was shown for us to be familiarized in
every corner of the University.

To close this most- awaited event, the Adviser of CSG, Ms. Eunice A. Villaruel and
Vernalyn S. Muñoz shared their messages with thanks. Everyone loved the program even though
there’s a lot of technical errors, still a great job since it was executed and gave its objectives.

The event ended at exactly12:00 noon.
