Topic : Unit 9 Our Solar System (Mercury)
Content standard : 1.1 By the end of the 6year primary schooling, pupils will be able
to pronounce words and speak confidently with the correct
stress, rhythm and intonation.
Learning standard : 1.1.3 Able to listen to and recite poems, tongue twisters and sing
songs, paying attention to pronunciation, rhythm and
intonation
1.1.4 Able to talk about related topics with guidance
Behavioural objectives : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to
1. listen to a song of Mercury and fill in the blanks 5 out of 8
correctly in worksheet A.
2. talk about Mercury based on worksheet B.

Trainee’s Teacher Reflection:

Overall, my objectives are achieved as 98% of the pupils able to listen to the song
and fill in the blanks 5 out of 8 correctly in worksheet A and able talk about Mercury based
on worksheet B with teacher guidance. Pupils were also enjoyed the song of Mercury.
However, teacher’s explanation must be more simplified. Besides, the teacher should
play the original song to pupils so that they will be more familiar with the song. In addition,
when I distributes the worksheet A, I should give pupils a few minutes to go through the
worksheet before play the song.
Lastly, I did not manage to closure stage as the time is dragged to let pupils to
familiar with the song.
