What I Learned (An Akon mga Nahibaruan)

In this week’s lesson I have learned that Exogenic Processes is the geological phenomena and processes that
originate externally to the Earth’s surface. Genetically it is related to the atmosphere, hydrosphere and
biosphere. Exogenic Processes normally circulates into three phenomena’s namely: Weathering, Erosion and
Deposition. Weathering is the natural process of rock and soil being worn away. Plant, roots, ice, wind, and
water are all causes of weathering. Weathering has two types: first is Mechanical Weathering it is the
breaking down of rocks without changing its composition. In this process, the size and shape of rocks
changes and this occurs because of the following factors: pressure, temperature, frost wedging, abrasion,
organic activity, human activity, burrowing animals and salt crystal growth. Second type of Weathering is
Chemical Weathering it decomposes rocks through chemical reactions that change the original rock- forming
minerals. It changes the composition of rocks due to chemical reactions and the following factors:
dissolution, hydrolysis and oxidation. In the other hand, Erosion is the separation and removal of weathered
rocks due to different agents that causes transportation of the material to where they are deposited. These
agents are running water, ocean or sea waves, glacier, wind, groundwater and gravity or mass wasting.
Lastly, Deposition is the process in which the weathered materials carried out by erosion settle down in a
particular location. Deltas and Sand dunes are some of the effects of Deposition.

Questions I still have about the lesson/ What I did not understand well (An akon mga pakiana mahiunong
han leksyon/ An mga waray ko maintindihan hin maupay)
None so far

What I want to learn more about the lesson/topic (Ano pa an akon karuyag mahibaruan mahiunong ha
leksyon)
How can exogenic processes play an important role in astrobiology?

How I feel About the lesson (An akon gin-aabat mahiunong han leksyon)
Learning this week’s lesson was amazing due to the fact that it was easy to understand and it was
purposeful. Knowing exogenic processes is so beneficial because it plays an important role in the formation
of a variety of landscape.
