ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
MODULE 3B: LEARNING RESOURCES

The topic for module 3B was Learning Resources and the facilitator is Mam Christel Ann
C. Mercado. The LAC session happened last September 3, 2020 and the time agreed was 1:00
pm until 5:00 in the afternoon. This Module will help you refresh your knowledge on the different
types of resources available for you in the different LDMs, show how you can access these
materials, and introduce a method of rapidly assessing them before use. In this module we
learned to associate learning resources (LRs) with specific learning modalities. We also able to
access resources from online portals such as DepEd Commons and LR Portal of the
Department of Education. We shared our insights on the importance of using quality assured
LRs.
Learning Resource Maps is the topic for lesson 1 where it gave us the map of learning
resources needed for the implementation of the different Distance Learning (DL) subcategories.
Based on the map, the best LDM in our school was blended learning of modular and TV based
instruction. It was assessed the LR needs and concerns in your School was the learning
modules that will distributed to the learners that are already in a 90% completion and are
currently reproduced based from the data of enrollment of the school. There were some
concerns like the readiness of the teachers but we reflected that teachers have been attending
series of seminars and LAC sessions to prepare teachers for the new normal in education.
There are two portals that are managed by the Department of Education and they are the
LRMDS and DepEd Commons.
The two portals can respond to my LR needs and of my learners as an additional
activities or supplementary activities to the teachers and learners. This can also be used for
other missing learning resources in which can have a readily available resources that he/she
can use. The learners can also use DepEd commons for other activities that the learner has
interest and can enjoy. The facilitator gave us the chance to explore other LR portals online. I
establish access to various LR portals and had some discussions on the challenges in utilizing
DepEd-sanctioned LR portals such as the LRMDS and DepEd Commons. During the sharing of
insights, we determine the support systems available to us as a teacher in the use of LR portals.
We had a task to assess the quality of the LR materials from both DepEd and non-
DepEd Portals using the LR Rapid Assessment Too. We were able to download a module in
DepEd commons and a learning resource in a Non – DepEd portal. We discussed the insights
and realizations about these LRs that we downloaded. We were also tasked select and improve
quality-assured LRs that are appropriate for our teaching-learning needs but the LRs that we
downloaded were of a good portal and passed in the rapid assessment tools.
The resources may have undergone a quality assurance process, but I may still need to
assess the LRs in terms of their relevance to my lessons and to my learners.
