Respiratory system organs:

Nose- The nose detects odor molecules and helps filter and warm the air we inhale
Pharynx- The pharynx acts as a passageway for food on its way to the stomach and
for air en route to the lungs
Larynx- The larynx serves to protect the lower airways and facilitates respiration
Trachea- The trachea serves as passage for air, moistens it while it passes into the
lungs, and protects the respiratory surface from an accumulation of foreign particles
Bronchi- Passageways that bring air in and out of the lungs
Lungs- They bring oxygen into our bodies (inhalation) and send carbon dioxide out
(exhalation)
Digestive system organs:
Mouth - salivary glands make saliva which = digestive juice and it moistens food and
then enters the esophagus
Esophagus - Receives food from your mouth when you swallow.
stomach - A temporary storage for food, which passes from the esophagus to the
stomach where it is held for 2 hours or longer. Mixes and breaks down food by
contraction and relaxation of the muscle layers in the stomach
small intestine - absorbs almost all of the nutrients you get from foods into your
bloodstream
large intestine - absorbs water and salts from the material that has not been digested
as food, and gets rid of any waste products left over.
rectum - receives stool from the colon, let you know that there is stool to be evacuated
(pooped out) and to hold the stool until evacuation happens
anus - lets you know whether the contents are liquid, gas or solid
Pancreas - Makes enzymes that break down sugars, fats, and starches. Your pancreas
also helps your digestive system by making hormones.
Liver - processes the nutrients absorbed from the small intestine
Circulatory system organs:
Heart - pumps blood throughout your circulatory system.
Lungs - brings in air from the atmosphere and pass oxygen into the bloodstream
Arteries - Carries blood away from the heart and veins carry blood back to the heart
Veins - pumpa much-needed blood back to the heart.

The Respiratory system takes in oxygen from the air. It also gets rid of carbon
dioxide. The digestive system absorbs water and nutrients from the food you eat. The
Circulatory system carries oxygen, water, and nutrients to cells throughout your body.
A body is like a building. A building has a plumbing system, a heating system, a
cooling system, an electrical system, and a support system. If any system in a building
breaks down, other systems can be affected. All the systems in the body work together
to keep the body functioning and also during homeostasis.
