occasions and if customers want, they can also order customized
cakes. Not only this, “Just Cake Things” ensure that customers
will never be disappointed with their service, quality and most
importantly the taste of the cakes.”

Q-1) It is really exciting to interview a person from NSU

whom I know for a long time. How you are doing
Maksud bhai?
Ans: Thank you I am also feeling great talking with you after a
long time. I am going good till now by the grace of Almighty
Allah.

Q-2) Good to hear that, so how is this pandemic time

going for you?
Ans: We all know everyone is going through a tough time right
now. So, I am not uncommon in this situation. I feel everything
has changed at a glance. Most problems that I am facing now is
to go out of the house for work and also to buy necessary things for
the home.
Q-3) Okay, now let’s talk about ‘Just cake things’. From
where you got the idea to do this business?

Ans: Okay, let’s get started. Muntasir my mother is a great cook

and she can cook mouthwatering different cuisines. However, her
baking is the best thing and she can make very delicious cakes.
So, from there I got the idea. One day I told my mother why you
don’t take this as a profession?

Q-4) How did you initially start the business and what
was your strategy to execute the ideas?
Ans: So, at first I went for the taste marketing to know the review
of the flavors of the cakes. Then, I selected some of the flavors
which I got the best reviews. My most important goal is to make
lucrative and delicious cakes keeping the best quality in mind. I
thought giving a shop and starting from the scratch but it will
involve lots of cost. So, I started taking orders in online.
Q-5) What are the problems that you face while selling
your cakes in online?
Ans: The lead time is the problem that I am facing. Sometimes
customers want the cakes within 4,5 hours after the order. But we
don’t sell any readymade cakes. We at first take orders then we
start to make the cakes. You know the traffic congestion in
Bangladesh so sometimes it becomes difficult to deliver the cakes
on time. Moreover, we also take orders of many customized cakes
and to make customized cakes it takes times so sometimes it is
difficult to deliver in emergency. However, I am trying to solve
these problems.

Q-6) What was the most difficult challenge that you

have faced in your business?
Ans: The trust of the customers. Since, we sell cakes in online so
customers were confused with our cakes like the quality of the
cakes or the taste of it. The customers could not physically see the
cakes that is why they have doubt. But after providing good
quality and tasty cakes I have made a very good customers base.
The spread of words of my business among people is very positive.
Q-7) As we all know many businesses have been affected
adversely during this crisis period. How is your business
going?
Ans: Frankly I am doing a very good business right now. People
are scared to buy cakes from the shops so they prefer homemade
cakes to have right now. I am getting orders almost every day
currently.
Q-8) So, Maksud bhai you have established ‘Just cake
things’ in 2019. Share your business experiences till now.
Ans: You know that I am studying in NSU. Sometimes it is
very difficult for me to run both my studies and the business at the
same time. I try to balance both of it very efficiently. I have made
a timetable for me so I work accordingly. The journey has been
ups and downs but patience and faith made me going till now.
Q-9) What plans or ideas you have generated to grow
your business in future?
Ans: Right now I am doing the business in online and ‘Just
Bake things’ recently partnered with Food Panda and Pathao
food so that customers can also order through their app. Till now
I am getting good responses and so I am planning to open a
pastry shop soon.
Q-10) What sorts of advice you want to give to the
people who want to bring their dream ideas into reality?
Ans: I will say just go ahead but go with some strategies by
having proper knowledge about the business that you want to do.
To become a big, you need to take risk and have faith in yourself.

interviewing you. Anything you want to say to conclude
this interview?
Ans: Thank you Muntasir. It was my pleasure talking with you
and sharing my business experiences. Lots of memories came
back to me.
