Test Preparation
1. Move the machine to a smooth, horizontal location that is away from operating machines and away
from personnel.

2. Place the transmission direction in the NEUTRAL position.

3. Engage the parking brake.

4. Lower the work tool to the ground.

5. Stop the engine.

6. Relieve the pressure in the hydraulic system.

Reference: For more information about relieving the hydraulic pressure, refer to the Service Manual
module Testing and Adjusting, "System Pressure - Release" for the machine that is being serviced.

1. Install tooling (A) to test ports (1) and (2).

2. Start the engine and increase the engine speed to 1200 RPM.

3. Observe the Low-Pressure Standby pressure on tooling (A). Refer to the Specifications table.

4. Ensure that the work tools are clear of obstructions and personnel. Operate the loader lift function
slowly while observing margin pressure on tooling (A). Refer to the Specifications table. If the margin
pressure is not within specification, refer to "Margin Pressure Adjustment Procedure".

5. Check stall pressure by performing a double stall of the loader boom in the Up position and the bucket
in the Dump position. Observe the pump discharge pressure. Refer to the specifications table. If the
stall pressure does not meet specifications, refer to "Loader Relief Valve Adjustment Procedure"

6. Reduce engine speed to Low Idle and stop the engine, testing is complete.

(1) Margin spool lock nut
(2) Margin spool adjustment screw

1. Gain access to the pump pressure controller margin spool by removing the floor access plate on the
cab floor.

2. Loosen lock nut (1). Turn margin spool adjustment screw (2) clockwise to increase pump margin and
counterclockwise to reduce pump margin.

3. Tighten locknut (1).

4. Repeat the "Test Procedure" to verify pressures after adjustment.

Loader Relief Valve Adjustment Procedure

1. Gain access to the loader relief valve (1) by removing the floor access plate on the cab floor.

2. Remove the protective cap from the relief valve. Loosen the lock nut on the relief valve. Turn the
adjustment screw clockwise to increase pressure and counterclockwise to decrease pressure.

3. Tighten the locknut.

4. Repeat the "Test Procedure" to verify pressures after adjustment.
