After the first flight through low density volcanic ash define
and select one reference area, approximately 4x4in
(100x100mm) at one of the following locations:

Make sure the painted surface of the reference area is not

damaged or previous affected by erosion, if required, re-
paint the area before inspection (Ref. SRM 51-20-43).
Check accumulated Flight Hours in low density volcanic ash
SAAB Service
with Technical Department; the aircraft must be inspected

after 25FH, 75FH and 175FH of exposure for possible SN 340-1001
erosion impact.

- pitot tubes and static ports
- engine inlets and nacelles
- Issue a CRS for the Daily Check in tech log. PART 145.A.50

NOTE: Based on the results of the above inspections, more detailed inspections may be necessary.
Report any encounter with volcanic ash, or any other relevant findings, to the DOT LT Technical
department for further instructions.
