Overview of the lesson:
Jawaher began the lesson with the National Anthem and then reviewed the virtual classroom
rules and gave the students 30 seconds to prepare themselves for the learning today.
Next, Jawaher proceeded with the morning calendar activities where students identified the
appropriate the month, day of week, yesterday, tomorrow, weather outside and how they are
feeling. Students once again reviewed the virtual classroom rules displayed on screen. She then
stated, “Today we understand about the water cycle. What do you know about the water
cycle?” and then proceeded to review the lesson steps that students will learn today: Warm up,
discover new words and meaning, story time and questions, story map, activities, exit ticket.
 Excellent job breaking down the lesson utilizing Gradual Release Model (GRM) to ensure
student understanding 
During the warmup, students were introduced to the water cycle vocabulary words (water
cycle, evaporation, condensation and precipitation) and then watched a short video explaining
the water cycle. After the video, students were asked to identify what they saw in the video and
responded appropriately.
Next, she introduced the lesson vocabulary with pictures and meaning for water cycle. Jawaher
explained that the water cycle follows steps: 1. Evaporation, 2. Condensation, 3. Precipitation
and asked the students to identify what would happen if we no longer had water. Students
responded by stating that plants, animals and people would die.
Jawaher then modelled each group activity for students to complete using the class kick link.
 Excellent job using class kick as a formative assessment learning platform 

 Red group: Draw and label the water cycle on a piece of paper and post in the chat
 Yellow group: match picture with the corresponding water cycle vocabulary word
 Green group: Identify and label the steps of the water cycle using the water cycle
vocabulary words
As students completed the activity, Jawaher was able to monitor students’ progress using the
live class kick link. Students were then instructed to join the water cycle review kahoot activity
and answered questions.
Question to consider: What strategies can be implemented to ensure the lesson cycle is full
covered? Think about the importance of the lesson closing.
Action Plan:
Managing and Implementing Learning:
 Be sure to close the lesson by restating the learning outcome to remind the students
what they learned today.
