Final Project in EDUC 254- Educational Planning

SHEILA MAE R. PERTIMOS

Im Sheila Mae R. Pertimos and currently a Teacher 1 at the Danlag

National High School. The school was establish on June 2002 located at the
Danlag, Tampakan South Cotabato with only 112 students, 4 classrooms and 5
teaching force. With the passing of years, the school improved on its physical
aspects, road and population and currently offering Senior High School, now the
school has a total of 346 students, 6 functional classrooms and a total of 8
teaching force.
Through the aid from government, school buildings are constructed.
However, the number of classrooms and teacher is insufficient to the yearly
increase in number of pupils. The school grounds become congested too,
because the area is too small. Also the school has no important modern facilities
and teaching modules to produce quality education as mandated by the
Department of Education.
One year ago, the school was lucky to get two sets of television donated
by stakeholders and school fund raising. Another 5 computer sets was donated
by the Division for ICT instruction, still this donated materials are not enough to
accommodate all the students of the Danlag National High School specially when
the face to face class resume since the MOOE is focusing on the improvement of
the school ground and providing bond papers, printers and other needs of the
teacher in this modular learning the budgets are not enough to tend the other
needs of the school . Today the school are looking for alternatives on how to
improve the school, address its problems and prepare for the incoming years.
Mr. Junier R. Entrina was the current teacher In-charge of the school and
he has been an administrator for the past 3 years and the Danlag National High
School was his first assignment. He has a mission to educate all pupils enrolled

in this school to grow as a total person anchored on academic excellence with

since of responsibility and patriotism. This mission could attained only through
upgrading the planning and implementation of schools programs, projects and
activities, developing a conducive teaching learning environment, supervising
instruction, providing staff development opportunities, evaluating, supervising
instruction, providing staff development.
I didn’t dream to become a Public school teacher since my 4 year course
is a BSHRM, but due to economic demand and financial need I made a decision
to become a teacher. The journey of being a teacher for me wasn’t easy since
you have to balance everything, but thank God I survive the journey and I
learned how to love my work and how to be a responsible teacher by complying
every school works on time and by sharing my ideas for the betterment of the
school. Be given a responsibility by my school head is an honour because I
believe that he has given his trust on me to finish what was the responsibility.
Becoming a school head is a long way for me, but then if I become one
someday just like our school head I’ll have also this mission to educate all pupils
enrolled in this school to grow as a total person anchored on academic
excellence. The focus should be at the academic of the students and the needs
of the teachers.

9. Write your insights/realizations upon completing this written planning task.

In this task I do have some background in creating this kind of paper works since the DepED
are giving us a lot of task to do but then again all this plans are useless without implementations, hard
works and of course the budget. I myself consider that the budget is the most important in making
plan specially when we talk about improvements, we cannot act according to our plan without it.

10. How do you assess your finished plan, in this task, in a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the
highest?

In this task it is 9  it takes experience and a little knowledge for me to be able to
come up with this finished plan. Thank you
