Some people think that mental strength is the most important factor for
success in sports. However, some others believe that it is more important to
have strong and fit people. Discuss both views and give your opinions.
Some people are of the opinion that the success in sports depends on mental health most. However, some
others are opposed to this idea, claiming that physical fitness are of greater significantsignificance. Whilst
the former can be justified for some reasons, I am more inclined towards the latter.
I can understand why people think mental strength are of uttermost importance for sports success. It is
clear that sports competitions are extremely stressful and these require players to concentrate more than
100%. Indeed, there are a wide range of factors which have effects on the performance of players. It may
come from audiences or an unexpected situation. So, if sportsperson’s mental strength remains stable and
be in high spirits, they will overcome any difficult moments. Moreover, in many premier competitions,
the level of participants has not a great disparity; as a result, mental strength plays the most important role
in the success.
However, I would side with those who think that physical health contributes more in the winningthe
sporting achievement/attainment. This is because sports need require players to own a good bodybe
physically fit/have good fitness. Obviously, it is difficult for a sportsperson which have a bad physical
health to be successful in a competition. In many kinds of sports, physical fitness is the key factor to
playing well and the only way to join these sports is to improve the fitness. With each kind of sports,
players must improve their fitness to be suitable for these ones. For example, if someone wants to be
successful in fitness, they must enhance their muscles to have a good body. Additionally, compared with
mental health, physical fit is more essential for a sportsperson’s career because it has more impacts on the
life not just in some competition.
In a nutshell, when it comes to the success in sports, I advocate for my firm conviction is that physical
health which is more important.
