In this day and age, it is believed that making an early decision on one’s career
path and sticking to it can bring a rewarding working life. Even though this
philosophy can do people good, I would argue that there are other contributors to
job satisfaction.

It is true to some extent that early career orientation and staying loyal to one job
can offers benefits in terms of stable income and better career prospects. To begin
with, adhering to one job as early as possible can provide people with a decent
amount of salarywage rates. Indeed, if one starts his job upon obtaining necessary
qualifications for it, he can begin making money and his salary will stay consistent.
This stability in month salaries can enable him to provide for his family and
prepare for the future. Another advantage that can be derived is that veteran
employees are usually considered for higher positions in the workplace. This
means that when people opt for a single job and devote their time to it, they can get
promoted more easily and their careers will thrive in no time.

However, the sense of contentment with a jobjob satisfaction is also attributed to


the elements of the working environment and fringe benefits. One major factor
contributing to job satisfaction is how one’s colleagues treat them. In other words,
people can only be truly happy with their work when they can feel the love and
care from their co-workers. A good working environment, as it is universally
defined, is where people with different characteristics and work styles can
collaborate well with each other. This kind of mutual understanding and support
can indirectly free workers from any stress or pressure coming from the workplace
and therefore better their working experiences. Besides the joy of receive receiving
high salaries on paydays, the merits of having company trips or holiday
celebrations can be of great importance to enhance one’s satisfaction towards his
or her job. Those fringe benefitsperks, although/albeit subtle, can make employees
feel appreciated and that their career choice is right. In the long run, this those
feelings can act as a source of motivation for employees to work harder and help
the company prosper.

In conclusion, while being a loyal employee and starting to as soon as one can is
said to bring satisfaction because it grant one with a stable salary and higher
chances of getting promoted, a suitable working environment and upsides other
than money can play a pivotal role in one’s happiness in work.
