Practical Exercise: Instructions
Instruction for Practicum Trainees:

Using the pivot tables you created in Advanced Data Gathering,

transform your raw data points to a graphical illustration (i.e. pie chart,
column graph, bar graph) or tabular format – depending on whichever
format would be more ideal during presentation.

Please prepare 1 slide for each item/question. Note that this will be
presented on our Session Day 19 and each group will be given 5 minutes
to present.

Practical Exercise: Complex Business Simulation
Based on the analysis of the important data points of ABC
Company’s Year 1 travel data, provide at least two (2)
recommendations on what areas ABC Company performed well
and areas ABC Company can still improve on in the future.
Travel Policy Highlights of ABC Company:
Purchase tickets more than seven (7) days in advance.
Book economy class tickets for domestic and regional trips; business class
tickets for international trips.
Book the lowest logical fare offered by TMC.

Tip: Look at advance purchase behavior (if travelers are booking late within 0-7
days), missed savings (if travelers are accepting the lowest fare), service class (if
travelers are booking as aligned to their entitlement based on travel policy) and
top airlines for possible supplier negotiation.
