Proper waste management can be done by


applying the 3R-Redece, Reuse and
Recycle. Reducing means lessening the
amount of trash/garbage produced.
Reusing refers to using materials more
than once while recycling means creating
new material or product out of
trash/garbage.

How to practice Proper Waste Management at:

HOME

1. Avoid using plastic bags instead use reusable cloth bags.

2. Segregate the garbage into biodegradabe and non


biodegradable collection bins. Do not put them in the same
bin.

4. Reuse plastic and glass containers

5. Create a compose site.

SCHOOL

1. Reduce your paper usage

2. Throw your garbage on its proper trash bin.

3. Avoid using bottled drinks. Bring your own water container.

4. Minimize using disposable eating utensils.

5. Use recycled materials in making your projects.

1. Get involved in the proper waste management program in your
community.

Let Us Reflect
Disposing our waste has become a challenge to all of us. Thus, segregation
of waste into plastic waste, organic waste, inorganic waste and liquid waste
is essential. Furthermore, recycling and reusing of materials is a must. With
the use of such alternatives we can minimize plastic materials in our home,
in our school and in the community. Indeed, awareness in proper waste
management should be conducted to make people aware of a safe waste
disposal system.
