Importance of Practicing the 5Rs

Practicing the 5Rs also helps make our surroundings clea

beautiful. Moreover, it provides opportunities for people
earn money by:
1. Selling recyclable materials to junk shops.
2. Selling handcrafted products made of recyclable mater
and
3. Putting up their own junk shop where they buy recycla
materials which they later sell to bigger companies who a
capable of recycling materials.

Minimizing and managing waste is every one’s responsib

God has created a beautiful world for us to live in. It is ou
to protect, preserve and conserve it. Do your part and star

BENEFITS OF USING THE 5RS OF WASTE

MANAGEMENT
Community
 Using the 5R’s saves one’s money because you can
hardly buy new products when you recycle, reuse,
repair them.
 Recovering used materials and products enables us
benefit from using free electricity and fire for cook
our meals.
Health
 Because of zero waste management, harmful diseas
like cholera, dengue fever, and various lung disease
caused by polluted environment will be reduced.
Earth
 Free from Pollution Wastes-If there is no pollutio
livings things will be able to survive; therefore, no
organism will become endangered or extinct and
biodiversity will continue to flourish.
