DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MAPEH 1

(Health 1)

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the pupils are able to:

a. Understand the importance of good eating habits and behavior,

b. practice healthful eating habits;and

c. distinguished healthful from less healthful foods.

III. PROCEDURE

A. Preparation

Good morning, class. Good morning,sir.

How are you this morning? We are fine, sir.

Let's us all stand for a word of prayer. ( Teacher leads the ( Everybody stands while the teacher leads
prayer) the prayer)

Please pick up pieces of paper under your chairs and


arrange it properly. Is anyone absent from the class?
None,sir.
What will you do if the teacher is talking?

What will you do if the teacher gives an activity?

Bahay Kubo". ( Teacher leads the song). (Student's follow while the teacher lead the

C. Motivation We talked about foods from plants and


animals.
I have here a bag with variety of foods commonly eaten
by children. I will call one of you to pick up one piece
then he/she will name it in front of the class.

( The teacher calls one student at a time to name a food


from the bag) Yes, sir

D. Lesson Proper/ Discussion ( Students follow)


Now from the same bag , I will call one of you to pick one
item, all you need to do is name it, tell your classmates
whether it is good for children or not. Understand class?

Very good. Our topic this afternoon is all about healthful


and less healthful foods.

Ok class, I will teach you a rhyme entitled " Ang Gatas


Yes, sir.
at Itlog".

" Ang Itlog at Gatas"

Ang Itlog at Gatas

Pagkaing pampalakas

Ang saging at Papaya

Pagkaing pampaganda

Uminom ka ng Gatas

Kumain ka ng Itlog

Hindi magtatagal
Ikaw ay bibilog

Mag-alaga ng manok

Bibigyan ka ng Itlog.

What are the foods mentioned in the rhyme?

What foods are saging and papaya? ( Students follow the teacher)

What will happened if you will drink milk?

Where do we get eggs? Gatas,Itlog, saging and papaya.

Very good! They are fruits.

Healthful food is very important to us because it will help We will grow healthy.

We get it from chickens.

While not healthful foods will make children sick.

D. Generalization

Now I will show you pictures individually. All you need to


do is identify whether it is healthful or less healthful
foods. Understand class?

Coke,Watermelon,Ice cream, Durian, Corn,
Apple, Tomatoes, Ham, Cake, Pineapple,
Squash

E. Application

Now I will divide the class into two groups. I have here a
box full of variety of foods. All you need to do is select a
representative from each group to come here in front,
pick five foods from the box without looking at it, go
back to the group and identify whether it is healthful
foods. I will give 5 minutes to finish the activity.
