ACTIVITY DESIGN

I. Program: DISTRICT-WIDE ROLL-OUT TRAINING ON LITERACY


INSTRUCTION IN ENGLISH AND FILIPINO

II. Rationale:
Educators play an important role in building literacy and
language skills to learners. Learners from K to 3 learn to read and
read to learn at proficient and advance level when provided with
the right literacy instruction.
It is therefore requiring the teachers to enhance their
knowledge, understanding and pedagogical skills on literacy
development so they can provide rich, meaningful, and engaging
environment supported by appropriate teaching practices.
Refreshing the knowledge and skills in literacy will develop and
improve learner’s proficiency as readers, writers, and creative
thinkers.
Furthermore, teachers need to learn more strategies in order
to cater all types of learners. Hence, this training on Literacy
Instruction is the answer.

V. Objectives:
1. To enhance content knowledge, understanding and pedagogical skills on
literacy development in English and Filipino.
2. To develop an organized and feasible action Plan in School-Based
Learning Action Cell (LAC).
3. Instill strong commitment and advocacy towards literacy.

VI. Outputs: Attendance of Participants, Reflections, Pre-Test and Post-


Test, Post Activity Report.
