A. Preliminary Activities

Modular: Ask the learners to enumerate words that they know about Pitch, volume, tone and speech
rate.
Online: Ask the learners about using word with same meaning but different intonation.
B. Motivation
Learners read a statement with same meaning using pitch, volume, tone. (The teacher will give words
using flash cards.)
“Excuse me.”
“Excuse me?”
C. Discussion
1. Discuss the difference of the statements given.
2. Differentiate the pitch, volume, and tone.
V. Generalization
The learners understand and apply the difference of the same statements.
The learners identify the meaning of pitch, volume, and tone.
VI. Evaluation
Write a 5 statements that has same meaning but different intonation.
