INTRODUCTION:
Distance learning poses challenges for teachers in the conduct of assessment including
limitations on giving immediate feedbacks and the need to account for different contexts in designing
and implementing assessment tasks. Learning in this trying time is a very challenging task not only
on the part of learners and parents but on the teachers’ part as well. The learning process must be
monitored every now and then. Thus, a need for the organization of assessment procedures for
monitoring mechanisms and health protocols was established to better monitor the learning process.
In this regard Banyaga Elementary School set rules and standards to follow in order to measure
learning following the health protocols for everybody’s safety and well-being.
ACTIVITITES UNDERTAKEN
With the battle cry of education that learning should
never stop amidst the pandemic, a modular distance
learning was introduced. Modular print was the mode of
learning employed in Banyaga Elementary School. The
problem on assessing learning arouse that led to the
organization of assessment procedures for monitoring
mechanism and health protocols. Through the leadership of
the principal, the assessment procedures for mechanisms
and health protocol was implemented in the school.
To see to it that pupils’ needs and parents’
queries will be answered easily, teachers were asked
to create group chat. This was to ensure that physical
contact will be lessened and teachers can easily reach
them. For parents who cannot access internet
connectivity teachers report to school in skeletal
workforce to attend to their needs following the health
protocols.
Parents are given chances to get the modules and other learning materials in case they failed to claim it on the
scheduled date of distribution. They also need to follow the set safety protocols posted outside the door.
For the orientation of the mode of learning to pupils, google meeting was conducted. Introduction
of subjects teachers and classroom rules were introduced to pupils.
Health survey for learners and teachers are properly monitored also as reflected by
their submitted pictures in the group chat for every grade.
To see to it that pupils’ needs and parents’ queries will be answered easily, teachers

teachers can easily reach them. For parents who cannot access internet connectivity teachers
report to school in skeletal workforce to attend to their needs following the health protocols.
Pupils participation in school activities like Brigada Pabasa, Conduct Of Earthquake Drill and
answering of modules are also being supervised too.
CONCLUSION
Always keeping the lines open for parents, and pupils’ queries is really of great help to reach
the learners and to ensure that learning will take place. We can not do anything but to embrace the
changes brought about by the current situation that greatly affects our ways of life including the
delivery of the educative process. The only constant thing in this world is change and our ability to
deal and adjust with the changes is the only weapon we have to succeed.
