Reflective Report.

INTRODUCTION
Our group chose the topic of Sports and Recreation for our GP Team
project. This topic was chosen by our team because all the 4
members of our group are very much interested and into sports and
so we thought that we can put all our heart to research and provide
the best outcome related to our issue. Our aim is to aware the youth
about existing corruption in sports prevalent all over the world so
that sports can become clean as ever and the dignity, integrity and
identity of sports can be protected. Our main focus is on match
fixing. We want the support of the people to become the protectors
of the sporting society so that the so called word “MATCH FIXING”
can no longer headline sports news.

A: Effectiveness of the project outcome in achieving the project aim

We decided to create a website. Making a website will give us an
opportunity to keep our outcome intact for a long time by regularly
adding new content and statistics about corruption in sports and also
publishing primary research like surveys and interviews. This makes
websites a more reliable outcome than posters, pamphlets or a video
as it has continuity. Making a website will enable us to reach our aim
to a larger extent because after the project is done, we can still keep
our website running. By making website we also have an advantage
of two way communication. Scholars or teachers reading our content
can easily give valuable feedbacks on our website. Feedbacks of
appreciation and improvements will help us to figure out mistakes
and good things in our website and will eventually make our website
better in terms of achieving our aim.
However, using it might lead to risk of hacking or unwanted activities
in our website. Making a website may also limit our aim to our school
only because nowadays there are numerous of websites like ours
which are advertised daily on the social media platform and only
some get prominence.

B: My work processes
To make sure that we achieve our aim to a large extent we made a
website as our outcome. As the leader of the group I planned our
team project over a period spanning 3 months. I planned that our
group will research about our topic and also research the best
outcome for our topic for 2 months and then we will compile all the
information to make our website and will which may take one
month. To make this process easier and faster I assigned different
roles of digital director, research director and website developer to
each of my group members. I set the quality, time and reporting
parameters for our group and monitored the progress of each
person research so that these parameters are being met. I also kept
in touch with my group members during vacations by interacting
with them on our hangouts group. I made important decisions such
as deciding the outcome and deciding content that needs to be
included in our website by taking views of my group members and
ensuring that everyone comes to a unanimous decision. In addition
to being group leader, I contributed some amount of research
material by researching about many sports players perspectives on
corruption and match fixing in different sports. This research gave
my group members a better understanding of the topic and helped
us to make our website better. Furthermore I advertised our website
on my social media handles in Instagram, WhatsApp and facebook. I
also printed pamphlets in which our website was mentioned and
distributed it among young people living in my apartment to achieve
our aim. However, as the leader of the group I failed to some extent
in meeting the deadlines of my group. This was because I was unable
to keep intact with my group for a crucial one week because I was
very sick and key decisions of finalising the content in our outcome
and which aspect of corruption needed to be focused on were
unable to be made without me. As the leader of the group I
succeeded in making a perfect schedule for my team but I eventually
failed in making sure that the schedule plan is bieng rightly
implemented. My schedule failed to be implemented to some extent
by my team because our workload increased by a big margin in
September because of many FAs were conduct in our school in
different weeks and I failed to tackle the situation as I didn’t have a
backup plan considering our exams. My learning was immense from
this team project both as a leader and a student. As a leader I learnt
the importance of efficient planning for a team project and that a
back up plan should be also created. I also learnt the importance of
assigning the correct roles and responsibilities to the correct person
to get a maximum contribution from everyone which matches their
potential. This team project also took my leadership skills and my
research skills to an entirely new level but most importantly this
project taught me a lot about time management and doing my work
on the deadline. I am grateful for the opportunity of participating in
this team project.
