Assignment #3

Write at least 10 sentences that will help you maintain mentally healthy.

Some thinks that mental health is just a waste of time or maybe it was just “pag-iinarte” but
no matter what other people think, we must take care of our mental health and maintain it. Here
are some ways that I personally do, and it help me maintain my mental health.

First is having balance diet and exercise. I do believe that a healthy body is connected to a
healthy mind. What you eat makes who you are, so eating healthy food makes you have a healthy
mind and body and exercising releases stress and negative energies. Whenever I have negative
thoughts in my mind, I prefer to walk or jog just to feel fresh air and relieve stress. Next is
appreciating things around me. This was hard since sometimes I feel that I have nothing to
appreciate but I realized that appreciating things makes me feel happy and loved. Another is writing
a diary. It may sound childish but at my age, I still have diaries where I write down my thoughts,
rants, and my goals so whenever I feel unmotivated, I can read it back and realized the reason why
I started doing this that I am doing right now. Next is tracking your progress. A slow progress is
still a progress and tracking it down keeps me sane that is why I am keeping a school planner
where I wrote down my tasks, and crosses one when I am done with it. Crossing it out makes me
satisfied and proud of myself.

Aside from these, I also do things at my own pace. I don’t pressure myself in doing school
tasks, or household chores. Though I already have daily routine that involves little of them like
washing plates, cooking food, and sweeping the floor, the bigger tasks like washing clothes, I only
do it when I feel it, or when I need to. Pressuring myself doing things that I don’t want to make me
question myself if I am happy so I avoid it as much as I can. Next is less usage of social media. I
can’t totally avoid it due to the situation right now, but I prefer to lessen the usage of it avoid myself
comparing my life to others. Another is having my own space. Our house is a studio type where I
don’t have my own room but luckily, I was able to make an area where my stuffs are located, and I
décor it on my own. Having this keeps my mental health healthy. Next thing is celebrating success
and resting. Whenever I passed and exam, I gives myself a reward like pizza, or an ice cream. Then
whenever I feel tired, I do take a break and rest. Last is self-reflection and praying. These two things
were the main reason why I still have healthy mentality. These helps me clear my thoughts and
praying makes me remove my worries and anxieties.
