OBJECTIVE

IRCC INNOVATION Project is an event aimed to inspire students into inventing an innovation
project entirely on their own, based on annually revolving theme of the year; in which they apply
all related knowledge, mastery as well as soft skills, including but not limited to: understanding of
the RBT subject, application of sensors and actuators, coding and programming skills, creativity
and innovation, trouble-shooting, problem solving, able to work in a team (albeit independently),
etc. IRCC also introduces participating students to the concept of video creation, video editing,
presentation, digital marketing, all the while strengthening their proficiency in the RBT subject.
IRCC encourages participants to get unique and creative in their invention.

NATIONAL LEVEL
For IRCC Category INNOVATION Project, teams are required to invent an RBT Project based on
“the theme of the year”, by using the items listed (please refer to Section: AUTHORISED
COMPONENTS & MATERIALS) as well as recyclable materials. Then, they are to design and build a
physical functioning end-product/ prototype, for demonstration and presentation purposes.

Theme of the year 2021: Gamify RBT Learning in the Classroom

The project must be able to fulfill at least one of the learning objectives in the subject “Reka Bentuk
dan Teknologi.
1.1. Category INNOVATION Project (Primary School) - Reka Bentuk dan Teknologi Tahun 5
1.2. Category INNOVATION Project (Secondary School) - Reka Bentuk dan Teknologi Tingkatan 2
atau Tingkatan 3

***Students must be able to showcase and demonstrate how the learning can be gamified and thus
made interesting/ enjoyable.

Gamifying learning objectives: it means adding elements of gaming and fun, interactive activities to
the classroom learning, while also being able to carry out the learning objective specified.
Here are some of the examples, including but not limited to:
❖ Interaction between each other
❖ Elements of competition or rivalry
❖ Involves some form of active, physical activity
❖ Adding rules related to gaming mechanics or principles
❖ Employ uses of strategy or coordination
❖ etc...

Learning objectives of the subject “Reka Bentuk dan Teknologi” can be found in the Appendix A (please
