Module 2 Lesson 2 CONTEXT

1. Safety
- I feel that I am always safe whenever I am in the presence of my family. There are always there for me
from the beginning, providing me food, warmth, and love. They never choose to forsake our well-being
even though it takes them to sacrifice something. Back when I was young, I remember that whenever
there is someone who I have conflict at school, they are the ones willing to face that person and stand
before me. From that moment, I realize that no matter what the circumstances are, they are willing to be
at my side to keep me safe.
2. Comfort
- Whenever I feel down, I never thought that I was alone. I have a good bond with my mother. Since I
was a daughter, I was more open to tell everything to my mom. She is always there to say to me that
everything will be okay because God is always in control. She teaches me not to give up and encourages
me to find joy in small blessings in life.
3. Unconditional love
- Regardless of my shortcomings in life, they showed me unconditional love. Through my ups and downs,
they are there to discipline me for good and support me emotionally. I could proudly say that my failures
in life do not dictate whether I was worthy of their love.
4. Acceptance
- I was embraced by family no matter who I am. They understood my flaws and limitations, and they
gently help me going through the hurdles of life. I was not pressured to become someone else. They are
by my side to mold me into becoming a person with faith and kindness. Throughout my life, I never felt
criticized and insulted.
5. Mutual respect
- Respect in the family is needed to be reciprocal. For instance, if my parents respect my privacy and
such, I should respect theirs too. If they accepted my individuality even when it differs from theirs, I
should accept them too. I believe that my relationship with my family is all about mutuality.

6. Communication
- One thing that I could be proud of my family is that we never keep secrets from each other. We talk
about how our days are spent, about the struggles we encounter, and about big or small issues in life.
Whenever we communicate, we try to make it positive, and we must listen well to what we talk about.
7. Appreciation
- Whenever I achieved something in life, my family are the first people who will appreciate and
congratulate my success. For instance, they appreciate my hard work and sleeplessness just to get a good
grade in the class. They are proud of me regardless of what I achieve in life— big or small leap of
success.
8. Time together
- We always never neglect to have time together. Mealtime in the family is important because it is
considered as our intimate time at home. Whenever we eat together as a whole, it is just so comforting
because I get to see the smile and hear the laughter of my loved ones. It made me realize that I am indeed
blessed because I am still in the presence of my family while others are not.
