Career Choice
Video Script
Hi! This is Charlotte! She lives in Akron, in Ohio. She’s in the 9th grade and she’s 13 years old,
but she already knows what her job will be when she grows up. Charlotte will be a nurse, to
take care of sick people.
Nurses are professionals who are in high demand in the US, given it’s a country with an aging
population that continues to grow. As a nurse, Charlotte will be able to do some activities
doctors do, like prescribing medications and treatments, interpreting x-rays and diagnostic
tests and managing patients’ overall care. Nurses are also important in educating patients on
disease prevention and positive health choices.
As a nurse in the US, Charlotte will probably have a rewarding salary. But if she wants to be a
nurse, she´ll need to study a lot.
And you, do you have an idea of what your job will be? Bye!
