knowledge of text structures) are major
contributors to the students’ reading
comprehension skills and whether or not
schema theory presents a very efficient
course in developing students' reading skills.
3. What is your motivation for this study? As an English major and as a future English
teacher, I know that comprehension is the
ultimate outcome of having read. It is the
most important ongoing activity of reading.
Without comprehension, how can we explain
how readers understand and remember text?
This question motivates me to conduct this
study.

research is useful to improve the quality of
education and in developing the English
language teaching, mainly in establishing the
reading comprehension skills.
6. When asked about the theoretical I use Anderson and Pearson’s Schema
framework... Theory because they stated that there are
three types of knowledge that must be
actively used by a reader to bridge the gap
between what is already known and what is
new in text information. These may be used
in different combinations by the reader to
make sense out of text. These types of
knowledge are important with the variables I
am working with in my study.
8. Why did you use this descriptive- The best research design to answer our
correlation as your research research questions is descriptive-correlational
methodology? research design. The nature of descriptive
correlational research is to describe the
relationship of two variables found in the data
collected through a questionnaire.
