LEARNING STANDARDS Complementary:
4.1.2 (ii) Write letters and words in a straight line form from left to right with regular spaces
between words and spaces. ( all children )
By the end of the lesson:
All pupils will be able to understand short basic supported classroom instructions.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES Group A : pupils will be able to colour 4 out of 6 circles.
Group B : pupils write 4 out of 6 names of the colours in a straight line form from left to right
and colour the balloons.
SUCCESS CRITERIA Pupils can listen, colour and write at least 4 out of 6 names of the colours.

LANGUAGE / GRAMMAR Point to something (green) …


FOCUS / VOCABULARY Colours: blue, green, yellow, red, orange, purple
Pre-lesson
1. Introduce and teach pupils names of colours using flashcards.
Lesson delivery
1. Give pupils instructions’ Point to something (red etc) - pupils point to things inside or
outside the classroom.
2. Play Simon says. If your instruction is Simon says point to something green, pupils do this.
If you just say Point to something green, they don’t do it. (21st CA)
ACTIVITIES
3. Teacher distributes worksheets.(CBA)
4. Pupils colour the circles. ( Group A )
5. Pupils write the names of the colours and colour the balloons. ( Group B )
Post lesson
1. Extend the colour sequence by adding a colour e.g. Point to something red and
something blue. (HOTS)
2. Teacher recap the lesson for the day.
