LEARNING STANDARD
W 4.1.2 (ii) Write letters and words in a straight line from left to right with regular spaces between words and spaces.
By the end of this lesson, pupils will be able to :
LEARNING 1. Read and draw at least six colour words.
OBJECTIVES 2. Form and write at least six colour words in groups using letter cards.

SUCCESS CRITERIA 2. Pupils able to form and write six colour words using letter cards in groups.

PRE LESSON
Play Find Something
1. Pupils listen to teacher, E.g. Find Something red. Pupils touch something red in the classroom.
2. Teacher writes the colour words on the board.
LESSON DEVELOPMENT
1. Pupils sit in small groups. Teacher gives each group some letters (cards).
2. Pupils have to try to grab the correct letter when teacher calls out a letter. They keep it if they grab it first.
TEACHING & 3. Next, teacher tells a colour word. Pupils work together to try to spell it using the letters they have.
LEARNING ACTIVITIES 4. Pupils read and colour the words given in the worksheet.
5. Pupils draw and colour a hat and write the colour of their hat. My hat is red.
6. Teacher discusses pupils’ answers.
POST LESSON
Task 10: Test your memory
1. Pupils observe the pictures in page 4 for 1 minute.
2. Pupils close their books and listen to the teacher.
3. Teacher makes true/false statements.
4. Pupils tell if teacher’s statements are true/false, and correct the false statements.
