PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION

This chapter explains the presentation, analysis, and interpretation of data.

The table 1 shows the Nutritional Value of Gooseberry according to USDA National

Nutrient Data base and as seen from the data above, Potassium have the Nutrient Value

of 198 mg which is very essential in maintaining normal blood pressure and sometimes

lowering elevated blood pressure. There is this mineral also called Magnesium which

comprises 2.5% of the RDA this mineral helps maintain Potassium in the cell. The most

useful benefit of Tultullaya is the presence of Anthocyanins, a subgroup of flavonoids, in

more recent years gained particular attention for its effects on blood pressure. Anthocyanin is

popular in preventing and treating diseases of the heart and blood vessels. In addition, Tultullaya

is rich in Vitamin C about 27.7 mg. Vitamin C may act as a diuretic which removes excess fluid

from the body. This may help lower the pressure within your blood vessels. According to

scientists from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, high doses of vitamin C — an

average of 500 mg per day — may produce small reductions of blood pressure; to reduce the risk

of heart diseases five capsules containing 100 milligrams is needed.

The table shows the nutrient content of Tultullaya that motivates the researchers to

conduct a study which is beneficial to people suffering from hypertension at the same time helps

farmers to eliminate some of the weeds in their farm.

Ashitaba (Angelica keiskei.), Nutrition Value per 100 g.

Ashitaba also contains other compounds, including:

 Chalcones, including isobavachalcone, xanthoangelol, and 4-hydroxyderricin

 Chlorophyll
 Lutein
 Alpha-carotene and beta-carotene
 Quercetin
 Catechin

The table 2 shows the Nutritional Value of Ashitaba according to Kenko. Green Nutrient

Data base and as seen from the data above, Potassium have the Nutrient Value of 81 mg which is

vital for maintaining normal blood pressure and sometimes lowering elevated blood pressure.

Also, the mineral Magnesium which comprises 3.9 mg of Nutrient Value can help maintain

Potassium in the cell. Moreover, the presence of flavonoids Hesperedin-Chalcones, Hesperidin is

thought to have beneficial effects on blood vessels. According to American Journal of Clinical

Nutrition in 2015, after four weeks of daily consumption of hesperidin beverage, participants'

diastolic blood pressure was significantly lower and endothelial function (after eating a meal)

was significantly improved. The elevated serum levels of total cholesterol, triglyceride, and

phospholipid are expected pharmacological effects of chalcones that are known to increase

cholesterol transport and circulating triglycerides (Nagata et al., 2007; Ogawa et al., 2003).

Based to the article, Ashitaba Benefits [A Comprehensive New Guide] states that, Chalcones are

exceptional composite substances that are recognized for their healing properties. In concentrated

levels, they help purify the blood. They reduce cholesterol and regulate blood pressure. They

foster efficient metabolism by helping the digestive system break down fats, so they are

highly recommended for weight loss. The American Heart Association says that a 5-10 pound

loss can benefit your blood pressure levels, reducing or preventing hypertension.
The table shows the nutrient content of Ashitaba which shows its benefits to people

suffering from hypertension. Furthermore, Scientists hypothesize that ashitaba may act by

blocking the activity of the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), which might, theoretically,

lower blood pressure

Therefore, it is possible to make Tultullaya and Ashitaba as an Anti-hypertensive Capsule

looking at the many nutrients present and good effects that it can give to the human body.
