LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH VI

TIME: 10:00-12:00

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the period, the learners will be able to:


a. Identify and describe adverbs of manner, time and place found in a sentence
b. Construct sentences using adverbs of manner, time and place
c. Appreciate the value of being healthy by explaining the importance of wearing a
mask during this time

II. SUBJECT MATTER


A. TOPIC: Adverbs of Manner, Time and Place
B. REFERENCE: English Module Quarter 4: Week 5
C. Materials: Visuals, activity sheets, pictures, video presentation, power point presentation
D. Value: Health is Wealth

III. PROCEDURES
A. Preparatory Activities
- Checking of Attendance
Check the Attendance by transferring names of learners from the plastic bottle labeled
home to plastic bottles labeled school to see who is present and who is absent.
- Setting of Rules

B. DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES

Sentence Grab Box!


Let learners pick a word in a box. Then using that word, let him/her construct a sentence.
Let others participate by asking the group if the sentence constructed is correct. If it is wrong,
ask somebody for a help to correct it.

C. MOTIVATION

Sing Along!
Let the learners listen to a song. They may sing along if they want. But tell them to listen
carefully to the message of the song.

Ask: “ What is the song all about? ( Answer: Adverbs )

Say: “This morning we will be talking about Adverbs. Specifically, Adverb of manner,
time and place. “

D. TEACHING/ MODELING

Movie Time!
Let learners watch a video about Adverbs of Manner, Time and Place.
After letting them watch the video, discuss the topic by playing back the video, but this
time have a pause if need to be explain.
E. GUIDED PRACTICE

Scavengers Hunt!
Divide the class into two groups. Then, let them play the Scavengers Hunt
Game.
Explain that in this game, the teacher will be giving sentences or paragraphs for a period of time.
Then, both group will jot down adverb they will see in the given sentences or paragraph. After,
teachers will let each group give one by one the adverbs they had written in their paper and they
will tell what kind of adverb is that. . The last group who can give the more adverbs seen in the
sentences or paragraphs given will have the point. The winning group will be awarded
accordingly.

Janice loves to skate daily. She always walks to


the frozen pond at the end of her street. Her best friend,
Destiny meets her there. “Hi Destiny!” Janice shouted
fondly. “Shall we skate across the pond now?” asked
Destiny. “I am ready!” The two girls hastily tied the
laces on the skates. Janice skated carefully when a little
boy pass. Janice followed closely. “Oh no!” said Janice.
Her skate hit a rough spot in the ice. She fell down.
“Ouch!” Janice cried quietly. “ That really hurts.”

Robin and Grant were looking to


make trouble. They quickly found an
empty house on Haunted Hill. Robin
slowly walked up the path and bravely
knocked on the door. Grant whispered
quietly that they should just go home but
Robin fearlessly wanted to look inside.
Suddenly, the door opened. The
two boys nervously waited to see who
had opened the door but nobody was
there! Then, out of nowhere, a cat
jumped towards them and the two boys
screamed loudly and ran away.
Robin said he would never go to
that house again. Grant laughed and said
he will absolutely never go to that house
again.
